This is Dempsey, brother of Copper, Sentry, and Chi-Chi, and half brother of DC, Batcat, and Scamper. Son of Sweet Pea and Rocky. He is annoying as hell.

This is Rocky, father of DC, Batcat, Scamper, Copper, Dempsey, Sentry, and Chi-Chi. He is the Champion Fighter of our neighborhood, and has fathered many sons. Also he's kinda fat, after we cut his balls off.

That cat does not appear to give nary a fuck.

This is Batcat, son of Rocky and 8-Ball, brother of DC and Scamper, half brother of Dempsey, Sentry, Chi-Chi, and Copper. He likes to climb things. And jump on things.

Does your spider respond to pets positively? I would get a tarantula in a heartbeat except I imagine them just being slightly annoyed when picked up. I know I could just google the answer, but how social has your tarantula been so far?

I hear Tarantulas taste good grilled on a fire.

She was fairly okay with being picked up until she molted recently, so I haven't checked yet because her new exoskeleton is growing & hardening.

Mexican Redknee Tarantulas (B. Smithi) are the more docile Tarantulas, preferring to run or kick their urticating hairs at you rather than bite you. Very passive species.

I'd recommend the Mexican Redknee to you, but keep in mind I don't have any experience with other tarantulas. They're extremely cheap to feed; Each week costs me about 50-75 cents, and that's all they need for the week. Rose eats 3 large Crickets a week now.

Keep in mind that Tarantulas aren't MEANT to be petted, though. If you must handle a Tarantula, first wait until it's a good size, of course. Then you should keep them close to the floor.

Don't handle your Spider for a week after he/she has molted.

And don't be an idiot; If the spider is looking angry, don't touch it!

Tarantulas are a long-term investment, with females living for over 20-25 years. The male lifespan is a bit shorter, and males are more prone to bite or try to escape, so I'd recommend a female.

An adult Female B. Smithi might cost you $250 plus shipping costs, if you have it shipped. Hopefully you can find one cheaper. I got Rose as a Spiderling for $90, though.

That's so cool,I only had a spider walk on my skin once,and well I wasn't aware of it for most of the time,how he got under my shirt without me noticing is awesome,I love how sneaky they are.They might be in your bed sleeping with you for the entire night and you might never get to know .
