For the first few seasons, the only person Ash had was Misty. But she was too bitchy
and shit to actually say anything outright to him. Her only competition was from that
Melody chick from Pokemon The Movie 2000: The Power of One. Melody was very
flirty with Ash and it drove Misty nuckin futs.

Crystal only made an appearance during a Japanese special dedicated to Raikou. In
the special she was hooked up with a side-character, but obviously had a crush on
Gold.

Then Misty left Ash to go back home and then the writers brought in the new female
character Jailbai-I mean May. She was hanging out with Ash until Diamond and Pearl
game out, which is where the new female lead, Dawn, comes into play.

Anyone besides me a little disappointed that Gary pulled a 180 during the end of the
Johto series and dropped out of being Ash's rival? Seriously, what a pussy way to go

Seriously, these guys were even featured in the opening credits of the orange island
series and yet they never show up again in the series, hell. The orange islands are
never even mentioned after the second movie.

I can barely remember Johto. At the end of the pokemon league tournament, didn't Gary shake Ash's hand and say something like, "Ah, you're cool. We don't have to be enemies anymore." ?

I remember angryfacing and yelling, "Now who's Ash's nemesis supposed to be?! The homo with the camera?!"

While Gary did shake his hand, he told Ash that he wanted to try something else for a
change, so he decided to become a researcher just like Oak. Poor Gary. His fan club
disbanded and he slowly faded away into lonely obscurity. He was last seen during one
of the Hoenn ep's trying to reclaim a lost Aerodactyl.

It was intended that Ash's new rival would be Richie (that's the kid with the other
pikachu), but even he vanished after the Johto series.

That homo witht he camera is the only one that ever made sense to me.

He has the ultimate job. All he does is find out where pokemon are, get a good pic, and write down the location. Occasionally he talks about the up and coming trainers for the pokemagazine. That way readers know where to go for what pokemon and who they should beat in a battle to make a name for themselves, besides wandering aimlessly around the world for months until they are 30 year old virgins like our main hero Ass-i mean Ash.

Dude gets paid to be a Paparazzi. Every other character is a Scientist that does what every other scientist is doing, sells food, is digging up the next new ancient pokemon, or is just a shut in. The Joys and Jennys have the medical and police force completely tapped out.
