| Faith
I have thus deduced that faith is dead And all of God’s men are God’s men in their head And they preach of their thoughts Causing wars and onslaughts
About a God that isn’t real About a God that doesn’t feel And the men that attempt to relate Will inevitably seal their eternal fate
As a drone of one mans lie That will cause so many men to die In front of a leader who is blind And shares a similar simple mind
Then choosing other lies to hate With weapons to exterminate So that they will rise above And be greeted by God with love
Yet he will cry and he will say I loved you until that very day You went against me and you killed The empires I tried to build
Because you chose to live a path That led to death and sin and wrath Could you not feel me inside? And what of the laws I asked you to abide?
You have failed me my creation And produced a sickening nation That I will destroy I must regret And create a perfect silhouette
That shows the truth I tried to teach The truth you could never reach Because you chose not to listen to me But those around you so you see
It’s not my fault that you have failed For the truth was never veiled I spoke to you within your thought But in other’s words you sought
A life of purity is all that I asked But in sinful nature you have basked And now I turn away in shame For there is only you (and you alone) to blame. |

| It would be more proper to say anti-faith
I've grown tired of people who say "Their lead by faith" yet all their fallowing is sin.
And the poem doesnt speak specifically of a specific religion or god although it does imply a lot towards America as it is one of the main contributors to such.
God = The Creator
All religions have a creator and to keep from having to name them all i just used God. Christianity does not own copyright to the word. |

| I know. But 9/10 when someone is referring to "God", they mean Christianity's God. I too grow tired of that, when used... wrongly. There are those who do believe they are following "faith", and be very nice, friendly, loving people throughout their lives. Then there are the ones who by following faith, alienate people, go to soldiers funerals and protest, go to gay weddings and ruin them (yes, both do happen all the time). It's THOSE kind of people that I grow tired of. If your faith makes you a better person, then by all means, follow it. But if your faith is leading you into "sinful" actions, then you can go to hell. >.> - Quote :

About a God that doesn’t feel And the men that attempt to relate Will inevitably seal their eternal fate It's lines like that, that somewhat disturb me though. To me, that's anti-Religion, and by some can be seen offensive. And I don't want some religious debate to break out. I do believe in something being out there, I don't know what "God" or "Religion" I follow, if any, because none of them seem quite... right. But, I know that regardless of my beliefs, I wouldn't talk down about atheism or Christianity or Judaism or whatever. Regardless, those who criticize Religion can't do so. And same with those that criticize Atheism. If you don't believe in it, you can't see it from the right perception, you can't interpret it correctly (though it is for each's own interpretation, there is definitely a "bad" interpretation). No offense meant, but poems like these seem pretty stupid to me. Very well done, but the subject itself doesn't seem to be in very good taste.

| Just to point out, it was the Jewish peoples God first, and in most circles it is accepted that all three of the only three monotheistic religions worship the same God, just a in different ways.
And God, with the upper case G always refers to the monotheistic one and since there are only three of those, and like I said, they all worship the same thing they have the term locked up.

The poem is talking about how people create a god in their own mind and fallow him instead of the religious god. I will note that it does direct itself mostly towards christianity because that is the one i've been most exposed to in my life. I've went to church my entire life and the words that the considered "holy book" preaches is not how its people fallow. The commit sin like its nothing special and feel that its as easy as 1 2 3 to be forgiven. When basically they are committing the sin thinging before comitting it that it is okay because they can ask for forgiveness after. The best term to this is hypocrocy. They judge others on their sins yet feel that their sins are forgiven when realy they should focus on their sins and their sins alone.
And though I do admit some people might take offense to this in a way they should not. Its perfectly acceptible to believe in whatever you want but you should not believe in what others think.. Religion is in a sense chaos.. and self awarness is the solution. The poem is also meant to be thought provoking not just to christianity but any religion you choose to fallow. You got to look at were it is leading and what it is causing and if you cant see whats hepenning then you have become what that very line you say disturbs you means. |
