| Attention! I am thinking of changing this RP from Trigger's CYOA Style to a more traditional RP approach. Where you decide the outcome of your battles, how much ammo you use, ect. I will list XP tables, and price tables and all that. Please vote in the poll! Kthx!
The Year is 2049, 40 years ago a bizarre plague spread across the nation. First signs appeared to be a cold, but after a few weeks it became much worse. Soon people started dying, scientists struggled for a cure but to no avail. 60% of the population grew increasingly sick, and starting dropping dead a few weeks later. Bodies stopped being buried, there were too many littering the streets. The remaining 20% remained fine, they raised children which were also fine. People began to rebuild...everything seemed like it would work out. The world was fine for the next 20 years.
Than, a manner of gruesome and terrible beats started rising up. Single corpses rose and turned on civilians as decomposing, bloodthirsty, creatures. But this was the least of man's problems. The massive piles of bodies that were buried in landfills emerged as horrifying creatures, the flesh had taken all new shapes. Some of these towered over 20 feet tall, there were some with spider's legs, some that resembles rhinos... The attempt to group them failed horribly, no beast was the same as any other. Most of civilization traveled east, until they hit the coast. Many towns there where cleared with a combined effort. Buildings were rebuilt, defense was made. Power turned back on...
Now, in the year 2049, things are still grim. There are many towns on the east coast which are safe havens. Life is fairly good there. To the west is what has been nicknamed 'The Forsaken Zone' Take the name literally, abandon all hope, all ye who enter here. Beyond this "boarder" (there's really nothing there but signs to warn you) Is pure hell, the worst of the outbreak is here. Squads have been sent to try and clear out towns, none came back.
Outside of safe towns, grotesque creatures still roam about. Serious threats are top priority and are offered bounties to eliminate. Helicopter teams often scout the area, taking note of any serious beasts they find. Infected Towns are highly dangerous, they are infected for a reason. Usually because squads have failed to contain it. Expect horrible, horrible things here.
The currency currently used is coin-based. It is produced much like money now days, and in the hands of the military. The coins are called "Rollicks" and 1 Rollick is about 1 dollar. Nothing is free, unless you happen to find it.
A Mercenary Guild known as M.A.N.T.I.S. Have their headquarters on an island. They are mostly unliked, but claim they are fighting to protect the people. They've been known to gun down civilians on sight though, they take no chances on wether anyone is human or not. Other than Mantis, there is a combined Millitary force active, they have camps set up inside and outside of safe towns. They busy themselves with protecting safe towns, and hunting down serious threats via helicopter.
This is the story so far...
Game Basics:
This game will work much like Trigger's Sword of Sacrifice. I will determine the outcome of all the battles. However, there will be some big differences, one of which is deciding how you go into a battle:
You have 3 choices when you begin. (You may aqquire more as you gain different abilities/weapondry)
-Conserve Ammunition Using this teqnique will have your character fire off as few rounds as possible, trying to be as accurate as he/she possibly can. There is a higher risk of the enemy reaching and attacking you with this style, and also a higher chance of hitting. Critical chance also larger. Good for Long to Medium distance.
-Shoot to Kill Bring down the enemy however it takes. This might mean using more ammo. This attack style lets one fire off more rounds than with the 'Conserve Ammunition' style. Hence more damage can be fired off more quickly. Good against multiple foes, and anything bigger than you. Medium Accuracy with this style, and medium critical chances. This attack style will also leave you in the best position to use a melee attack if/when an enemy closes in on you. Good for any distance.
-Spray Rounds This attack does what it implys, one may empty an entire clip on a single group of enemies with this. You can do the most damage possible with this attack, it's good to use in very tight situations. Low Accuracy, criticals are not possible. Use against large groups, and large singulary enemies.
Along with making your attack style choice, you must choose what weapon you want to use. One can only carry 2 Primary weapons, 1 Secondary, and 1 Melee weapon at a time. You can increase storage capacity by gaining certian abilities via level up and also by using special equipment. (Like a backpack)
There are hordes of undead humanoids about, as well as both horrifying and powerful beasts. One may find going out alone may spell certian death (especially in a high risk area) There is not a "Main" storyline, rather events will happen all around everyone. Boss battles will happen, they can be triggered by entering a certian area, or may randomly wander too close to a safe zone.
Ability and Attribute Lists.
When you level up, you may spend 2 Attibute points, and 1 ability point. Putting points into different Attributes increases how well you done things, and abilities grant you acsess to new weapondry/actions.
Attibutes:
Strength - Effects how much damage one can do with melee attacks and melee weapons. The higher Strength one has, the better he is at killing undead close up and personal.
Accuracy - Pretty simple, the higher your accuracy is, the more accuratly you shoot. Meaning more shots connect with targets. Get it?
Stamina - Gives you extra hit points when you level it. Simple, right?
Looting - Simply gives you a better chance at finding things, also gives the things you find a chance to be better.
Alertness - Leveling Alertness makes one react to everything a bit better. For example, you have a tiny bit more of a chance to dodge that next attack. Or a better chance of pushing that zombie that rushes you back.
Abilities: (more may be added over time) Edit: Based on the weapons you decided to start with, abilities will be given. Example: Starting with a Shotgun gives you shotgun proficiency.
The following everyone starts with:
Handgun profession - Allows the use of basic handguns.
Shove - Gives a chance of pushing a zombie back when one gets to close, attack style effects can increase or decrease the chance of doing this. Shoving a zombie does slight damage to it, as well as pushing it back. One can easily kill a shoved zombie with a point-blank burst.
Blunt Melee Profession - Allows the use of various cheap, blunt, melee weapons. (Iron Pipes, baseball bats, ect) They work poorly and are not recommended.
The following are given to any character that is MANTIS or Millitary, in addition to the ones above:
Sub Machine Gun Profession - Allows the use of rabid-fire sub machine guns.
First Aid - Allows the administering of first-aid with Medkits, and other healing devices which must be applied.
Steady Hands - Gives a +1 bonus to Alertness and Accuracy
Knife Profeciency - Allows the use of short-bladed knives.
Kick - (Requires Shove) Gives a chance to kick back a zombie closing in on you. Does more damage than shove, knocks the zombie onto the ground.
Now, these abilities can be gotten when leveling-up. (The ones MANTIS and Millitary start with can be too)
Rifle Proficiency - Allows the use of Rifles.
Assault Rifle Proficiency - Allows the use of Assault Rifles.
Explosive Proficiency - Allows the use of simple explosives, like grenades and molitove cocktails.
Handgun Expert - Allows the use of Revolvers, and increases damage and accuracy when using Handguns.
Assault Rifle Expert - Allows the use of high-powered assault rifles. Increases damage and accuracy when using Assault Rifles.
Shotgun Proficiency - Allows use of Shotguns.
Melee mastery - (Requires Knife Profeciency, and Blunt Melee Profeciency) Allows the use of large-bladed weapons and powerful blunt weapons. Examples are Fire Axes, and Machetes. Makes melee attacks more powerfull as well.
Sub Machine Gun Expertiece: Increases Sub Machine Gun accuracy and damage.
Quick-Kill (Requires Kick,and Melee Mastery OR Knife Death-Grip) - Gives a chance to quickly draw your melee weapon and strike a closing-in zombie. This attack will kill weaker enemies instantly.
Knife Death-Grip - Makes you hold your knife in a combat stance, knife attacks do more damage, and strike quicker with this.
Rifle Expertiece - Allows the use of better rifles, and increases damage and accuracy with Rifles.

Background: john was born in a small settlement, nothing more then a large house. At the age of eight, it was overrun, with only John escaping through sheer luck. Two days later, a military convoy found him, and he was raised in the base at Rauningston, under the orphan training program. He was found to be the best shot in his platoon, and was made a Designated Marksman at the age of 14. Due to supply shortages, he was forced to use a modified smg, but even with that he excelled. Years later, a former IDF soldier named Adam Heiden was put in his platoon, and they became fast friends.

| SPECIAL ABILITY SUGGESTIONS:
Rambo: For a short amount of time, your damage and RoF with any automatic weapon is increased, with a large penalty on accuracy.
Adrenaline burst: For a small amount of health, you will do more hand to hand damage for a short amount of time.
Lucky: At the cost of health, strength, and accuracy, you will be permanently lucky, finding good loot with little to no effort.

| Item Information:
Cameras - Used to take pictures of things. Useful for taking a picture of...say a monster you'd get rewarded for killing. Comes with 10 uses.
First-Aid Kit - Used to treat minor injuries in the field, someone with first-aid can heal up to 15%, someone with Advanced Medical Knowledge can heal 25%. Comes with 2 uses, be warned that it does take a moment to apply treatment, doing it in battle is NOT recommended.
Backpacks - Give you more space to hold stuff depending on the quality.
Flashlights - So you can see in dark areas/locations. Can be strapped onto your guns. Without a flashlight you may not enter a dark location, and you will suffer a 25% accuracy loss at night. Flashlights are better with higher quality.
Scopes/Red-Dots/Laser Sights - Give Accuracy bonuses.
Other weapon attachments - Give other bonuses. | |

| Enemy Information:
Basic Humanoid Zombie - Slow moving, easy to take down. Attack with claws, teeth.
Fast Humanoid Zombie - Fast moving, harder to take down. Attacks with claws and teeth.
Disfigured Humanoid Zombie - The result of two or more humans becoming 1 creature, very slow moving to average moving. Can have ranged attacks, harder to bring down.
Beasts - Disfigured animal-like creatures. Take the form of some very strange things, often fast and agile. Very difficult to take down.
Bosses/Sub Bosses - Creatures of unimaginable horror, will not be able to be brought down alone.
Turtle thingy - As seen in first page of RP. Has a ranged attack. Excells in bringing down choppers with tentacles, is fast and eats ppl. | |

Gene's father was in the military ever since Gene was born. He was a high ranking official blah blah has nothing to do with Gene's story.
Anyway, one day Gene's dad died. Leaving Gene as an orphan. In the orphanage he met John Stevens, who he thought had a pretty odd name for a Russian/Finnish fellow.
Anyway. John was amazing in the orphanage and grew up to be all cool and in the military, and Gene was.... Not. He had always amused the kids in the orphanage with magic tricks, earning him the nickname Genie.
Now, 7 years after getting out of the orphanage, Gene is married and has 2 kids. He still keeps in touch with his old friend John. Suddenly one night his wife and kids are killed by a bunch of looters. And... That's where the story begins for The Genie.... | |

Background: Born in a world where he had to live on survival. He's always had a nag for the long and short game. Works with snipers and knives. Unfortunatly, having put so much time into that, is not very good with any middle ground type weapons, like assualt rifles and pistols. He worked as a sniper for MANTIS before finally becoming fed up with their harsh methods and seemingly evil ways. Chose to roam alone, except for afew random encounters with other people every now and again. After being alone for so long, he became what he hated to begin with. Now he feels no guilt for killing some poor soul. He doesn't simply take advantage of people, but if given a reason won't think twice about shooting them down. Works well with people, as he was trained, but only if he needs to. Ironically, since he carrys such a large rifle, it takes him more time to switch to his melee weapon, giving the enemy a window of attack at medium range as he has to put away his rifle and switch to his knife.
Starting Equipment:
Melee:TOPS MAK-7G Military Assault knife
Primary: A stolen M82 sniper rifle with scope
Secondary: A basic 9mm with very limited ammo. (emergancy use)
