| The A Song of Ice and Fire series, by George R R Martin.
Book 1 : A Game of Thrones Book 2 : A Clash of Kings Book 3 : A Storm of Swords Book 4 : A Feast for Crows Book 5 : A Dance with Dragons (Forthcoming) Book 6 : The Winds of Winter (Forthcoming) Book 7 : A Dream of Spring (Forthcoming)
It's simply amazing. It's only drawback is that it makes most other good books look like complete shit.

| As far as its genre goes, I'm sure W40k is great. I've actually been meaning to read them. But Ice and Fire is the king of all things medieval. Honorable mention goes to = The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Tolkien, of course) The Prince of Nothing Trilogy (R Scott Bakker) The Wheel of Time series (Robert Jordan) The Sword of Truth series (Terry Goodkind) | |

| You're missing the queen and king of authors, K.A. Applegate and Michael Crichton. Also, Tom Clancy shall get an honorable mention as the secondary king, Like J.K. Rowling gets an honorable mention as second queen.
And first four George Martin books have been out forever. When is he releasing 5-7.

| Book 1 - released in 1996 Book 2 - released in 1998 Book 3 - released in 2000 Book 4 - released in 2005 Book 5 - Has reached 1500 pages of transcript. I'm expecting it anyday now. Book 6 - 2017, I predict. Book 7 - 2025?!
I hope GRRM doesn't do like Robert Jordan did... What with dying before he could complete the whole series. >.>

A Clockwork Orange (Oh mah brothars) Hey! I'm reading the S.D. Perry book right now! I started at Code Veronica and will work my way back, cause I've played the earlier games too recently, but I haven't played CV in quite some time. And Jurassic Park and Lost World were both written by Michael Crichton. My favorite author.

| I really liked the S.D books, especially her two stand alone novels Caliban Cove and Underworld. Oddly enough a lot fans hated them because they called them "Rebecca worship", but they're quick to forget that at the time the novels were written, Zero hadn't come out and Rebecca never appeared in any other games. So, she was just trying to expand on an otherwise under appreciated character. [/fanboy] | |

| The Halo novels by Eric Nylund. Those are a pretty good read, even if the story in game is kinda weak. | |
