Lucid: Information and Planning Empty
PostSubject: Lucid: Information and Planning   Lucid: Information and Planning EmptyTue Jul 27, 2010 2:16 pm

Information:

Lucid is a multiplayer RP that revolves around the world of Inception. It will be based on the themes and rules of the movie Inception. Some minor details may be altered or changed. If you wish to be in this RP, it might be a good idea to see the movie.
To better understand it, RPers should watch the trailers to the movie, found here http://inceptionmovie.warnerbros.com/
They should also read the film summary.

Gameplay:

RPers who join will work as a team of Extractors under the command of a leader to get information from a target. The Extractors will enter the dream of the target and fight/sneak/manipulate their way across the dreamscape to unlock the secrets the mind hides.

Character Types:

Every trained Extractor has a role in the team. These roles are based off the Extractors' own power in the dream world. Each Extractor has different skills and powers that they can use in dreams. A mixed team of Extractors is crucial for a good team.

The classes are...

Architect: The dream builder. The Architect creates the dream that the target fills with information and characters. Because of this power, the Architect is able to manipulate the physics in the dream, (turning gravity on/off, creating illusions, folding the entire dream, etc.) and knows the layout of the dream. Because of this knowledge, the architect knows where hidden passages are, and serves as the guide.
OOC: The Architect must visually describe the setting of the dream in the RP and must be very descriptive.

Forger: The imitator. The Forger has the ability to mimic any person, real or imagined, in a dream. This enables the Forger to trick the target into revealing key information. More importantly, the Forger can fool the target's subconscious, allowing the Forger to evade almost any enemy.
OOC: The Forger must be able to copy personalities of the target's friends/family very well.

Creator: The provider. The Creator has the ability to add almost any item/weapon/vehicle to the dreamscape. The Creator can instantly make a gun appear anytime they need a weapon. When the team needs a vehicle, the creator can think up a car. The better the creator, the more advanced their creations can be. Very advanced creators can make fully functional planes and tanks.
OOC: The creator must be able to fully describe their creations. Creators are limited to subclasses which means that unless you are an extremely powerful Creator, you must stick to either creating weapons, vehicles, or misc objects.

Manipulator: The power dreamer. The Manipulator has the ability to manipulate aspects of the dreamscape. All manipulators work in different ways. Some can set certain objects on fire, others make things explode. One of the best manipulators, and the leader of the team of extractors can use force like powers to push or pull things away from him.
OOC: Manipulation is a very broad class. Feel free to get creative if you wish to be a Manipulator. However, Manipulators are not God characters. They are limited like Creators. They can only manipulate within a limited range of power.

Chemist: The drug dealer. The Chemist has the ability to create certain drugs to use on the awake target. These drugs can help put the target to sleep, make them sleep longer, or help them sleep deeper. The Chemist can also bring their power into the dream world by using chemicals that can further drug the dreamer in a variety of ways. Also, the Chemist serves as the doctor of the group of dreamers, keeping them alive.
OOC: The Chemist must have a little knowledge of real chemistry in order to be accurate about the drugs.

Enemies:

The Mark: The target. The Mark is the character who the team are trying to steal information from. The Mark will appear in their own dreams and will fight to protect their secrets. However, good extractors will be able to trick the Mark into helping the extractors. If the Mark dies, they will wake up and the dream will collapse. The mission will be over.

The Subconscious: The dream population. The Mark's subconscious will fill the dream with characters, weapons, and vehicles. The subconscious takes control of these and will attack any extractor that raises alarm. The subconscious gets more and more aggressive based on the amount of time spent in the dream and by how much the extractors are manipulating the dream. If the subconscious believes it is in a dream, it will mobilize all of it's forces to find and kill the extractors.

The Protectors: Dream Police. If a Mark has had extraction protection training, they might be able to fill their subconscious with Protectors. These Protectors act like trained soldiers, using the best weapons and vehicles to find and kill the extractors. They are much more dangerous than regular subconscious projections.

Shades: Dream Demons. Unlike any other enemies, Shade's appear from the Extractors own consciousness. By going into a dream, the Extractor risks the possibility of unleashing bad memories into the dream. These bad memories and experiences take the place of a Shade. Shades can mimic any person that the Extractor knows or has known. The Shade uses the Extractors doubts and fears to work against them. Only extractors with deep emotional problems will experience a Shade regularly.

Things to Remember:

-Getting hurt in a dream tricks the mind into really feeling pain. You can't ignore a broken foot in a dream.
-Getting killed in a dream wakes you up. Once woken, you will not be able to re-enter the dream.
-If the Mark is killed, the dream will collapse and everyone will wake up.
-You can also leave a dream if someone awake manages to wake you up. The main way to do this is with a kick. A kick mimics the feeling of falling, which jolts an Extractor out of the dream.
-Extractors enter a dream through a sophisticated device which fits in a suitcase and can link up all dreamers to one dream.
-If you fall asleep in a dream, you will have a dream inside a dream. Creating multiple dream levels.
-Time moves slower in a dream. 10 hours of real world time gives 1 week in the first level dream, 6 months in the second level and 10 years in third level dream.
-If the Mark begins to suspect it is a dream, the dream will slowly start falling apart.
-Any change to the Mark while they are dreaming, such a putting water on their face, will affect them inside the dream. (It will start raining in the dream.)
