| Odinia. A world that is much like our own. Glimmering azure oceans cover most of her surface, while several large continents rule over smaller islands. No one knows how old she is. The elves have asked the trees, and they cannot remember. The dwarves have asked the rocks, and they cannot recall. Not even the rocks can recall. Our story begins on the continent of Glariel, in a small port town called Saysery. | (Better picture coming soon.) Glariel is made up of three landmasses located in the north-western hemisphere of Odina. It was once a single continent ruled over by three kingdoms: Valentine, the kingdom of magics. Ifirit, the nation of elves, and Asier, the kingdom of man. Together they lived in peace for nearly 150 years. However, not all was as it seemed. Political turmoil boiled under the surface. In their quest for knowledge, the magicians of Valentine began to experiment with spells and magic that allowed them to control the very elements of nature itself: A tower that could control the weather. Growing fearful of Valentine's magical growth, Asier and Ifirit formed an alliance to destroy the tower. War broke out between the alliance and Valentine and it waged for half a decade before culminating in a great disaster that ripped the very continent apart! In the aftermath that followed the great disaster, the king of Valentine declared that the tower be abandoned and all advanced arts be sealed away so that their mistake would not be repeated. It has been nearly 150 years since that day. Though the continent is still divided, peace once again reigns. One might wonder how long that will last, for history often has a way of repeating itself...

| It's ok Best part bout gametable is that you can fuck around with the map and save it, and it would be your own unique copy, while the original is still safe and in tact on my pc. | |

| Death & Resurrection Death isn't always the end, especially not in the lands of Odinia.
There exists a special sort of stone known as the Soul Stone. These stones are large, monolithic structures that resemble white marble stone with caramel and gold-colored streaks, and covered in glowing light-blue runes. Though many things about the stones remain a mystery, over the years clerics and magic users have unlocked some of their secrets, and have found ways to use them in wonderous ways.
The stones appear in many locations around the world, usually in major cities and in some smaller townships. Usually temples and other holy shrines are erected near or around the stones, leading many to believe that their origin lies in divinity. The stones appear to be naturally formed, save for the runes inscribed on them.
When a person dies in Odinia their spirit leaves the body and is immediately drawn towards the closest soul stone. There the spirit will reside may reside until it is eventually moves on to the afterlife or until resurrected. A spirit may reside within a soul stone for an indefinite amount of time, can choose to depart to the afterlife (die permenantly) at any time they choose. However, the longer a soul remains away from the body, the harder it becomes to resurrect that person. Even then, not everyone can be resurrected through this particular ritual.
For a person to be resurrected their body (or remains) must be largely intact. The body must be in the same plane of existence as the spirit that is connected with it, The spirit must be willing to be resurrected otherwise the revivification fails automatically. The body and or spirit must not be impeded or otherwise restricted by any magical or spiritual force that would otherwise prevent them from being revived. If the prerequisites mentioned above met, then a person can be revived.
The soul stone ritual is broken down into three phases. In the first phase, the body is summoned to the ritual site (but not the equipment, items, or other personal effects.) Unless the body is brought to the site prior. In the second phase the body is restored to the condition it was in prior to the the person's death, and finally in the third phase the soul is reunited with the body and life is restored.
There are certain circumstances in which using the soul stones to revive some one will not work. Bellow is a list outlining some of these circumstances. - A person whom dies of natural causes (Old age, non-magical disease, natural hazards, etc.) - A person whom has no physical remains or whos remains are not on the same plane of existince. - A person who's remains have been turned in to an undead.
Familiars/Druid Companions and NPC Class characters are unable to be revived through the soul stones unless they are deemed worthy (in other words unless the DM states otherwise.) by a higher order.
A person who's spirit has been out of the body for more than a year is unable to be brought back through the use of the soul stones. As time passes the connection that the spirit holds with the body degrades. Once the connection is gone, the body is no longer able to locate its remains and cannot summon them to the ritual site for revivification. This only applies to this method of revivfication.
The number of times a person can be resurrected in this manner is determined by their Constitution score. Each time a person is brought back to life in this manner they permenantly lose one point off their total Constitution score. The price for reviving a person depends on different factors, though largely depends on the region. | |
