Nothing.
You come awake, already on your feet. The room is pitch black.
You’re not even sure if you’re in a room at all.
You see nothing.
You remember nothing.
You KNOW nothing.
You ARE nothing.
A bright light snaps through the darkness. For one split second, you feel different.
You feel safe.
You feel innocent.
You will not feel this way again.
The worst part is that you already know it.
A voice chuckles from the black, as the light immediately dies. From far away, you hear a steady slapping against what must be pavement, as if someone is walking with a horrid limp.
Breathing… You hear breathing. Slow and ragged.
Another chuckle, this time much closer than before.
“What color?” coos a male voice, lined with velvet. “What color was the light?”
That voice…
Nothing.
You hear the telltale sound of someone dying in pain.
- Tell him the truth
- Tell him a lie
- Do not answer
- Ask him why you’re here
Tarry not in choosing your words. You’ll come to regret them some day, but not for any reason you could have controlled.
You'll come to regret.
