If you have yet to watch Gran Torino, but wish to see it, then I advise you turn away now. Spoilers are fairly abundant.

If there's one actor I've always liked more than The Depp, It's Clint Eastwood. He's like the Chuck Norris of the 1960s, and is awesome in every way.
So therefore, I curled up on the couch with my bootlegged copy of Gran Torino just a few hours ago, and prepared for a cinematic ejaculation of pure awesome.
I had a notebook and a pencil, and I divided the paper in half with a line. The left half was titled "Number of times Clint Eastwood pwns someone" and the right half was titled "Number of times Clint Eastwood is pwnt" By the end of the movie, there were 51 tallies on the left side, and 17 on the right, and most of the ones on the right were given out of pity for the other guys.
The story was simply awesome, epic, and orgasmtastic. Even at such an ancient age as his, he can still make one hell of a movie.
But... The end made me want to cry. I actually threw my notebook against the wall, and screamed. At the end, Clint Eastwood goes to confront a group of thugs that raped a young girl, and after Eastwood gives a long kickass speech, he is violently and bloodily gunned down.
Now, I can understand why this happened : The whole point was that Eastwood's character meant to achieve his goal without having to take anyone else's lives, which he was successful in doing. The thugs were all rushed to prison for a presumably long amount of time, where they wouldn't be able to terrorize the girl and her family any longer.
It is truly an excellent movie, and it is probably also true that it had the only ending that would have made sense, but gosh darn it, I can't get over the fact that Clint Eastwood got mowed down by a bunch of street hoodlums. That's just not how someone of his epicness should go out. Basically "Gran Torino" has the same exact problem that "I Am Legend" had. Both movies were too awesome for the main characters to go out the way they did.
My rating of Gran Torino = 9.5/10 but with an ending that makes you want to scream at a kitten, even though you know it's been good. ):
