Arena Battles: Hail Caesar! We who are About to die Salute You!

So, DF now has an arena where it's only PvPing inside the Outposts now. As of this post, my record in it is 4-9 because of VOID and GAU users in it. It's a lot of fun for GAU users, but until my BA actually can do all the damage it's suppose to it's annoying. It also gives PvP points, but half the amount as out in the city for my estimates so far.

Yeah. void and drlp are duking it out pretty hardcore right now. even dark sector is in there getting a piece. all told, I think there are 50 people with gaus dropping in and out of each others instances. and half of us are on the same vent...


It has been a pretty crazy afternoon.

Yeah, I wandered into that and BA smacked a few GAU users, but only notable kill I got was shopsmart from VOID, and even after that the rest of VOID swarmed me. Never realized just how scary Sgt. Thompson is for a GAU user until he hunted me down twice in a row. I mean, he can sprint as fast as me (117 agility is mine) and has crazy accuracy in addition to decent armor and endurance.

Yeah, me and Sgt PvP'd for shits and giggles. I got him down to scratched. Bwahahaha
I am only using a looting build but still, apparenty I did better than expected.

5 second respawn for GM's. that helps. and it would appear that the respawn trick no longer works either.

My favorite tactic vs. GAUs and when I need to get past a exit camper: get their attention, go behind a corner enough that they can't hit me with anything other then nades, then charge them and smack them around with my BA! At least sends them to serious/broken before I die, and with 59 end and getting 12.7s pumped into me by a GAU, that's pretty good. Only people this tactic doesn't work on so far: Sgt. Thompson (he's WAY faster then the average GAU user, so he can dodge it), STS900 (guy has an amp and actually good at timing the swings), and Wolf and Raven (nades me out of corners, but I can at least hold my own vs. him because he only uses his VSS for the arena).

Notable kills without any prior beating up: Wolf and Raven (I think this at least because he was raping some poor lv. 40 that wondered in there with a pistol only) and Octorph.
To be fair, I've been raped so many times by GAUs I believe I've seen every GAU user in the game by now.

What exactly happens when you die in it? I heard it resets you to how you were when you entered, but what about ammo?

Ammo is the only thing wasted besides nutrition, but that's nowhere near as bad as in the city.

Actually, that vid is about accurate to what goes on in the arena on a daily basis. Only thing lacking is the guys running ofr the exit or the ninja melee attackers. Wall ninjas are gone thanks to admin fixing that glitch, thank god! Don't know how many times CREB came out of the wall to kill me with his dusk razor. He would do it and I would be like: CREB! :ffff:

You should really hop on the public vent. Most of DS, including Cerb, hang out there almost every evening.

I always found late night vent as the back channel to DF. Usually the first place to find out all the juicy bits of what is going on in the community.

I often bring down GAU-fags with my M60. It's nice, having high accuracy.

you wont find me in there, if i wanted to kill other players i wouldnt be playing DF.

Yep. It's only at 100 right now, which is perfect for the pistol and almost perfect with the explodies, but with the M60 I can hit any zombie I can see.

I'll be working on finishing it after crit/end. Maybe sooner, considering this current build is specifically for TS... I need to get to work on that...

i was considering bumping my acc to 100, but tbh i think il get critical up next just to squeeze a bit more DPS out of the 60. 80 accuracy is enough to put a huge amount of fire into a wraith at the edge of the screen, and thats about the only thing i fight at any distance.

Well, you have Ghost Ammo, right? You'll love starting to use the M60 at longer range just 'cause.

i'l have endurance maxed out again in 16 levels, so it will be a choice between acc and crit for the 60 then. from what you say i think it will have to be acc now, as then if any PVP situations do arise i will be a mean sonofabitch. max endurance and agility behind 2 GC XT's and an M60 with very high accuracy sounds pretty vicious. unless you are wearing a purple leotard and packing a GAU, run away...

Haha, yep, though if you're deciding whether to do acc or crit, that's a tough one.
