As most of you know our current tabletop program is Gametable, and though it has faults and
limitations, it has all but served its purpose throughout our various d&d sessions, however that
doesn't mean we shouldn't keep an eye out for an alternative or replacement for it.
That brings me to todays topic, rptools.net is a nifty lil website that is host to a few special tools.
Specifically Maptool, TokenTool, DiceTool, InitiativeTool and CharacterTool. Now out of these
tools I've only downloaded Map, Token and Dice tool. The Dice Tool is just that, a dice rolling
program, nothing special from what I've seen.
The MapTool is similar to gametable and is the main program of the tools and shares many of
the same features as Gametable, however if you check out their demo page, you'll see that
MapTools is superior to gametable in ways.
TokenTool looks to be much more useful than DiceTool, it allows you to make tokens in a
quick and easy fashion. All you do is drag a picture into TokenTool and crop it to your specs
and bam, there you go.
