| You know... Over the past week or so there has been an unusual amount of drama.
First it was me and Jarki, then it was Jarki and Pengy, and now Kanden and Jen.
You know, I don't come to this site for drama, I come here to hang out with you guys and to have fun. Yet, lately it seems like theres more drama and less fun.
I don't agree with what Kanden said but I don't agree with Jen's actions either. Totally flipping out because of one little comment, deleting her account and leaving, and then getting not one but two admins to jump all over him? That seems like an awful lot of bullshit for such a short exchange of words...
Where the did the double standards come form all of a sudden? It's ok to joke around like that unless it's anyone but Jen? Jarki had more reason to act the way she did, hell, Leon had more of a reason to flip out the way he did... But this isn't about reasoning, no matter how much or little there is.
What bothers me the most is the way Kanden was ganged up on, cause any one of us could have been in his position and we wouldn't have been treated in the same manner. We would have had a finger wagged at us, had our hair ruffled and told to behave before being given a cookie, a glass of milk and told to go play in the back yard.
I know I'm probably the last one that should be saying any of this considering what happened with Jarki, but damn, twice in a month is just too much.

| It's Spring.
We're all in heat.
I blame PMS, combined with our springtime tit-lust, and an unnatural impatience for those who deny us our tits.
Hoot.

| What happened to the good old days when I was the only one who said uncouth things and upset everyone? And I also just want to say I love you Kanden. Your minecraft server was better than all others hosted by anyone here, which makes you far superior to everyone. Keep it up, brah. | |

| The fact is that I expected better. I'm crazy, I know this. I have a hard time trusting people due to some fucked up shit thats happened in my life, and when that trust is broken, I just up and leave. - Birkin wrote:

You forgot Jarki+Peng caused Pest to step down in the first place. Plus that Jarki+Syn fight that split the forum. And that Pest(?)+.....uh....that one guy from REO, who posted rape. I took a screenshot, and Pest showed it around. I was going to confront the guy in the chat, but my plans were thwarted.

| Actually I was only referring to the arguments that happened within the past week or so.
I still don't see how it is that he broke his trust with you because of a little joke? Maybe I just can't understand because I haven't been through whatever trauma it is you've been through. I'm sorry for whatever happened to you, Jen, but the people here are your friends.
We're not out to hurt you, we're not going to stalk you, ok well, Imp and Trigger might, but it's just for shits and giggles. We're not going to try and invade your privacy in any way, shape or form, we're not like that. Yea, we may joke around, we may be assholes, we may even be chauvinistic pigs at times, but this is how we've always been.

| Sorry, but this might be a little confusing. I'm tired and hot. And tired. Also, it's hot.
We're not your average online community. Pengor could come up to me right now and threaten to sodomize me with a rusty knife and bite my nipples off, to which I would laugh and reply that he is probably a gay donkey-fister from Mexico. We would then hold hands, skip off to Runescape, and double-team some homeless chick for lulz. Or maybe we'd double-team some non-homeless chick instead, just so we could tell her to get back in the kitchen afterward (because homeless women do not own kitchens, and I certainly wouldn't tell one to get back in mine).
And it wouldn't be a good night unless I was called a nigger or a faggot by a good friend at least fifteen times.
I recall someone saying in annoyance that, "Dammit, we're not /b/."
Indeed, we are not. /b/ frequently seeks to troll and harm. We, on the other hand, tend to have a similar humor, but never actually mean the faggotry we like to spew.
In other words, we're a largely mature community with a great capacity for immature humor. All of our permanent oldfags show a huge tolerance for the grossly inappropriate, and I've come to regard it as a vital quality for new members. If easily butt-hurt individuals became the majority, then we'd have to sacrifice some of our retarded freedoms, and devolve (or evolve as you might consider it) into some cookie-cutter community with insufficient lolz. Luckily however, those people usually don't make it very far into their UC careers. Alas, there's a reason I molest most of our new members on their application pages. The weak will respond with anger, ragequit, or be a realcoolguy and just shoot me with ellipses... while the powerful will rape me right back. We are Umbrella after all, and as we all know, power is life.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I've come to regard the world as one giant spreading unclean-able shit-stain, and making light of ridiculously horrible situations is just how I get through it. Some might say that I'm shitting more shit onto the shit-stain, but I like to think that I'm just farting for the lulz and the distraction. I might make fun of your bizarre sexual preferences, but hey, go right ahead and make fun of my dead whore sister who liked to murder children and fuck Nazis. Or just make sexual jokes about my mom, if you aren't feeling very creative, or know that I never had a sister. Afterward, maybe we'll RP, or just share funny porn, stories, comics, or other news, just as we've done since late 2007.
I'm so pessimistic that I've become optimistic. Or maybe that's just apathy. I don't know anymore.
When we go three years with the same humor and almost no drama, I tend to blame lapses in the peace on those that take offense, rather than the offenders, except where they were obviously trolling for reals (which is rare around here). As a wise man once said, "Don't go into a black neighborhood if you don't want to get raped." If that sounds ass-backwards, stupid, or racist, then I have done my job.
Hoot.
TL;DR Some of us have abrasive humor, but we all mean well and love each other long time. Also, a thick skin is reeeeeeally good to have on the internet.
Edit - It sounds like I might have made this about me, despite having taken no part in the recent dramas. This was not my intention.

| The fact is, I counted some of you as friends. This is revolutionary for me, because I'm normally a recluse who has five friends, tops. Pest, Rose, Lily(gf), Jack & Daniel. Sure I hang out with their friends if they happen to come over, but they're not the sort of people I'd hang out with on a daily basis.
Normally when a friend says, "Hey, I find X really offensive.", you don't immediately do it. But hey, if thats what friends do now, then I guess I won't make that mistake here anymore.

| >.>...Really, do I have to point it out? Every group of friend's has "At least" one asshole friend who'll point out your faults, or do shit just to bug you so the whole group gets a laugh, and he does it to everyone.
Online its no different, we all have an asshole side, if your gonna dish it out, or make snarky remarks, or anything like that, your gonna need to learn to take it as well. And for gods sakes, if you don't want someone posting a snarky reply like that on the internet, don't mention it in the first place.
You said yourself your not the type who goes out, and has a lot of friends. You don't hang out in social circles, you just seclude yourself in a small handful of people. World don't work that way, anyone who's actually social will tell you the world is Full of assholes, online, and offline.
TL:DR Tough-skin and the ability to take a joke or a snarky comment is a REQUIREMENT in modern day society. People are assholes, it's not going away for a long long time.
And this is coming from an Anti-social sociopath with a lust for blood and hitting things with blunt objects. my world view may be somewhat "Skewed" but it's at least relatively on par with the world today.

I think it's a little bit hypocritical/self-contradictory of you to call me a friend when we've NEVER really exchanged more than a few words to each other. |
