What can be said that I haven't said before? Pokemon Online is a battle simulator that
lets you build teams and duke them out against other opponents in a real-time setting.
You can change any detail of the pokemon you want when building a team: level, stats,
gender, whether its shiney or not, move set, held items. It's one of the best ways to
pre-test a competitive team: Pure results within a fraction of the time. Hell, if one were
creative enough, they could even use it to roleplay with.


Yu-Gi-Oh! Virtual Desktop

The next three links will all featur programs that allow you to play a specific TCG. This
is of course for yugioh. I don't expect anyone here to really download it, much less use
it, but I'm hoping I get a challenger or two. You can make a deck using any and every
card available in the us set, while more knowledgeable users of YVD can make their
own card sets to use. You can link up with other players and duel in real time against
one another in a face to face duel.


Magic: The Gathering

Same as the above, but with Magic: The Gathering instead. Now this application ISN'T
the one I played with a while back and I cant seem to find the original so be cautious if
you decide to test this out.

It looks like Dwarf Fortress.

It is similar to Dwarf Fortress, only the whole game is delving into an epic dungeon.

The graphics are much easier to adapt to than Dwarf Fortresses' as well.

I've been playing a few new games recently and thought it might be fun to revive this topic.

- Tales of Maj'Eyal
ToME is a tactical roguelike rpg and features the genre standards like character creation, randomized level layouts, and permadeath. What really sets it apart from other roguelikes is its' detailed overworld, which is a refreshing break from constant dungeon settings.

Fast-paced sidescrolling shoot em up action. Has some fun features like AI teamates and character upgrading.

I feel the need to repeat the earlier recommendation I see I made for Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup as well. I've put many an hour into that game at this point.

I realized this game hadn't been posted here yet.

SCZ - Survival Crisis Z

An intense blend of fast-paced run & gun and rpg. A real classic that can, at harder difficulties, be a very difficult survival experience despite the action-oriented gameplay. Not sure how it runs on newer Win 7 and newer though.

Just one more I've been playing:

Red Rogue

"Descend into the Dungeon of Chaos, retrieve the Amulet of Yendor, kill all who stand in your way and return with your prize."

An interesting side-scrolling game with great presentation; the art style and music are really what make this. The game play is satisfying though as you backstab kobolds with shocking amounts of resulting gore, search for and disarm traps, and try on a variety of different hats that you may loot from the corpses of your fallen foes. You also are not alone in your quest, as you have a cute little skeleton guy who generally minions about for you.
