| At the risk of sounding redundant, greetings and salutations to you all. I'd like to start off by thanking you (yeah you, the reader) for taking the time to allow me to introduce myself to your esteemed organization.
I was but a wee boy when I first heard of the "Umbrella Corporation" and have been obsessively intrigued from day one. I remember primarily reading of the controversial research goals which resulted in industry-wide ostracism...that is until results were finally achieved, silencing those of doubt. I knew then, as I do now, that I could never live up to my full potential as anything other than a loyal and devoted employee of the Umbrella Corporation.
Some of you may be asking yourselves, "So who is this fool standing before us, curtailing to our egos as though we hadn't genetically engineered the finest 'Yes Men' and needed another kiss-a$$?" Well, let me tell you.
I am Tyson Michael Drake; also known as "ndragon01" on DF (Dead Frontier). I've gone by NezRael, Pendragon01, and DopamineCircuit in other online games such as (but not limited to): DF Battlefield 1942 Battlefield 2 Battlefield 2142 Call of Duty: MW Call of Duty: MW2 Call of Duty: Black Ops Call of Duty: MW3 RTCW Counterstrike DAOC Xenimus etc..etc..
My DF character is a Level 28 Athlete (named "Randy Lahey"); while my alternate is a Level 24 Police Officer (named Dopamine). I've already raised my Athlete's melee to 100 and am currently dumping my proficiency points into rifle (which is at 30). On average, I spend at least an hour every day in-game and don't plan on reducing my playtime any time soon. Although, as of late I've found a desire for a more social element of play, as looting/grinding/leveling stimulates ones gaming experience only so much.
I've been led to believe there is a level 50 requirement for new recruits, but as I'm sure you've already deduced my I've totaled over leveled up 52 times or so (hehehe). I'd be grateful; no.....I'd be honored to be given the opportunity to participate and get involved in such a prestigious organization.
Thank you all for your time.

| Hello NDragon, Welcome to Umbrella!
Unless Kanden has changed the rules, only players level 50 or higher may join the DF clan, however these forums don't share the same restriction. You're more than welcome to stay and hang out with us old farts, should you choose to do so.

| Well that's a start I guess :-) 'Suppose this gives me motivation to start grinding out the next 22 levels though, right??
Which subsequheently brings me to ask: Is the Gold Membership a pretty essential / worthwhile investment? I mean, earning twice the exp per kill would most logically expedite the leveling process; and I.wouldn't be too opposed to better looting quality...
I have made it this far without the supplimented hunting benrfits so I don't know, I'm kind of torn on this. I'd be interested to hear what some of you veteran players have to say on the issue!

| Loot for non-gold members is shit, so if your goal is money then you're better off getting members, you'll get more exp that way, too. Hardly any of the people still here even play DF anymore. Those of us who don't hate it don't like it much simply because of how much the game has changed over the years. | |

| Is.that so?? What is it most of you play, or is it more of just an online community? | |

| We play whatever we want, and then we force the rest of Umbrella to play it with us.
Mostly Runescape, Diablo II, and some others. I still play DF too.

| hello, greetings, and welcome to Umbrella- or the offsite forum for, anyway.
as for the GM bonus, its far from essential* but if you havent got anything better to spend your local currency on, dont object to paying for pwn's next holiday-and plan on playing quite often- then its worth having. the reason i renewed mine recently (despite past statements to the contrary) is because of the massive XP boost- levelling is really slow at level 100+ even for a priest, and the amount a GM costs per month i probably spend every 3 days on cigarettes anyway.
*unless going for TPS, in which case it is.

| K, I think you just sold me on it Animal Mother. I'm only level 29, but I could see it taking a looooong time to progress from here without Gold Membership. Thanks | |

| not as long as you'd think actually, when you are ready for it a couple/three hours in endzone should be worth at least 500k XP so you'll be surprised how quickly it mounts up when you venture deeper into the city. if you've been at Doggs until now i can imagine it feels like levelling has slowed right down...once you get to the Fort the pace will definitely pick up- providing you dont get get mangled by all the leapers anyway. some of the missions at the fort are a proper bastard tho, but the better loot/XP should make up for missing out on some of the mission rewards. or you might actually like tackling spiders with melee weapons, who knows | |
