|  A few months ago I took this picture. I wanted to adopt the black one, and there are programs for soldiers to adopt stray animals in Afghanistan. In the spoiler tells what finally happened to them. - Spoiler:
The black one I believe the Afghan National Army traded a pack of gum and a cigarette for, and they found the brown one. They ate relatively well, the ANA hates American MRE's for some reason, and dozens of boxes of them were laying around for the dogs to get into.
There were stray packs of dogs around our base. We took one down, it tested positive for rabies. We took a few packs down, and the ANA started getting pissed. We could no longer have them manning the walls because they would draw their weapons on our snipers, because we were shooting stray dogs.
A few Afghans cried openly when we finally had to put down the two puppies. Others you could tell were going to, but their pride kept the tears back.
The militant jihad Islamist that you see blowing themselves up are a lie. I saw the real men of Afghanistan crying over a dead puppy.
