| This is an RP about... Guess. Yes, you're right, It's about Star Wars. To be more precise, Star Wars in the year 5 BBY, or 5 years Before the Battle of Yavin. You may start anywhere within the domain of the galactic Empire, and allow me to emphasize again that THERE ARE NO JEDIS!
To my knowledge, everyone who wanted to join the RP has already signed up, so... Let 'Er Rip!!!

| "All wings report in." Came Jester Leader's deep voice, cracking and buzzing over the comlink. One by one, every member of our squadron declared their presence.
"Jester One, standing by."
"Jester Two, standing by."
"Jester Three, standing by."
"Jester Four, standing by."
"Jester Five, standing by."
"Jester Six, standing by."
"Jester Seven, standing by."
"Jester Eight, standing by."
Silence pervaded. After a few moments of silence, Jester Leader's voice sounded again, "Jester Nine, are you alright?" he said, referring to me. I had been deep in thought, and hadn't been paying attention as I should have. This was to be my first battle, after all.
"Eh.. Jester Nine, standing by." by, I said, a bit on edge.
"Don't worry rookie. You'll be fine." Jester Leader said, picking up on the anxiety in my voice. "Continue." He then announced, to the rest of the squadron. The roll call continued immediately.
"Jester Ten, standing by."
"Jester Eleven, standing by."
"Jester Twelve, standing by."
And finally, "Jester Thirteen, standing by."
Everyone was there. Then again, there wasn't any reason for one of us to not be. I had a sneaking feeling the roll call was more of a useless habit than anything else.
We were all flying IRD-A starfighters. They came standard equipped with two laser cannons and two concussion rocket launchers, filled to the brim with rockets. That was heartening at least, but the IRD-A itself was not a particularly desirable ship. They possessed no shielding or hyperdrive whatsoever, and were less maneuverable than most other alliance craft. Nonetheless, those were during the early days of the rebellion, and we damn well took what we could.
"Alright men. Remember our mission." Came Jester leader once again. "We're to cover our boys as they make their escape from Malestare. They should be breaking through the atmosphere any minute now, but, as we've been told, several of their hyperdrives are on the fritz. Our mission is to make sure they make it to the rest of the fleet. The damaged ships in question will appear on your radars as yellow blips."
"No problem." Declared Jester Six. One by one, the rest of my comrades agreed. I was the only one to remain silent. Being the new guy on the squad, I was only a member of Jester squadron because the previous Jester Nine had been shot down a few weeks prior. I didn't yet feel like I was one of them.
"Let's win this one for Jorge." Jester Eleven declared. I believe that had been my predecessor's name.
"Do not forgot yourself, lest you meet the same fate." Jester Leader interrupted. He always had a sobering effect on the men.
Silence pervaded once again. I recall attempting to form a question in my head, but before I could ask it, the comlink sounded again. I can't remember which of my squadmates said it, but I distinctly remember, "There they are!" being shouted.
Indeed, in the distance, I could see a string of rebel transports winging their way opposite of the planet. All around them, green lines flashed to and fro. Enemy lasers.
"Punch it, boys! Remember your mission!" Jester leader shouted, as we all cranked the throttle to maximum. On either side of me, I saw other squadrons engaging their thrusters as well.
A knot formed in my throat. The battle was nigh.

| Kant floated lazily in space, his suit sealed. A rope dangled around him, just as lazily.
He was jettisoned for reasons of his own, and he had to bait the trap.
His arm scanner picked up an Alliance fighter closing fast, moving towards him.
It caught the rope, and Kant went flying through space now attached to an IRD-A.

| Rash kept moving one foot in front of the other as fast as he could. But because he was staring at his feet trying to make them run faster he did not notice the very big root that was coming up so he tripped over it.
As rash fell he looked up slightly to see the squad member in front of him get slammed with the Sniper round that was meant for him. Rash then looked back and saw the vapor trial of the round put it through his head if he had not fell.
Rash breathed in deeply then picked him self up ran forwarded and then duck down to pick up his comrades gun, only to see that It had been sliced in half by the rifle round that had killed its user. He ran forward a little bit more than launched him self down a small trench.
The fall was minor but it still hurt like hell. As soon as he could move again Rash turned around and started firing with his DC-15 from the small amount of cover that the trench supplied him.
He turned around as he heard a roar in the distance, the last of the rebel transports had taken off. Picking up his radio Rash yelled into over the imperial fire that was now raining down on his trench.
“This is wolf 5, I am taking heavy fire and am pinned down, the last transport left with out me and my squad. I need air support and a pick up, I repeat I am taking heavy fire…”

| "...In other news, the Star Destroyer "Justice" was disabled by rebel saboteurs approximately 14 hours ago. Those responsible have been captured and executed by our fine navy. Also, the criminal Nancy Li, also known as "Eve", is still at large. If you see a person matching the one in the pic-"
"Me-sa thinking they lying about the saboteur's execution, me-thinks." Corky interrupted.
"You-sa think so? Me-sa thinking you should let me listen to the holo-news before I lose my temper and toss you out the airlock." Nancy said, intensely annoyed.
"Sorry." the gungan said.
"...This is an Galaxy News Alert: The bantha from Tatooine named Fluffy took the Best in Show award in the Vandor-3 Equestrian Contest. This came as no surprise to the owner, a Tusken also from Tatooine. He is here to comment now." "HUURRRRR!!!-"
Nancy turned off the holo-news reciever, wondering what braindead idiot could bring a Tusken Raider into a holo-news studio. then she looked at the ever-moronic life-form piloting her ship, and wondered if a Gungan was in charge of that studio.
"Okay, we-sa are at Brentaal 4. We-sa stop here and recharge the bombad engines?" the Gungan asked, in a soothing, yet still idiotic accent.
"Yeah." Nancy answered, noticing that they were running on empty.
The moment the hyperdrive was shut off, the communication indicator lit up. Nancy activated the squawk-box and the familiar Imperial Pilot voice radiated throughout the cockpit.
"You are in Empire space. Prepare to be scanned." The voice said, muffled by his helmet and distorted by the com system. After a few moments, the communicator lit up again.
"Captain Li, you are to land at the coordinates provided and you will be taken into custody. We are going to escort you down." the pilot said, and two Tie fighters came behind the Correllian freighter. Nancy cut communications.
"Well, to hell with that idea. Corky, prepare for lightspeed Now." Nancy said.
"But we-sa have no more-"
"Just do it!" Nancy interrupted. Corky activated the hyperspeed engines, but the engines just sighed as they tried to run without fuel. The sublight engines cut out too, and they were set adrift, with only power left to supply life support.
"Me-sa hate to say it, but... uh... told you so." the Gungan said.
"What the...?" the imperial pilot asked himself, as the piece of poodoo freighter visibly turned off and began to drift away.
"Blue-One, has this ever happened before?" he heard on the com after a moment, his fellow pilot obviously confounded.
"No, it hasn't. Maybe their engines are bad?" he responded, also confused.
"Well, we don't have tractor beams. Do we just let them drift?" came the inquiry.
"For now. I'll have a shuttle come and tow it down." The pilot stated.

| Dave clutched his DH-17 tightly because he knew he was about to go into battle with his squad to rescue another squad that is pinned down on the outskirts of town. As the transport came to a halt and decended the doors opened up revealing the massive number of enemies they would have to fight. Those near the door opened fire on the nearest hostiles and dropped many of them. Troopers began jumping out of the transport 1 by 1 until it was his turn. He jumped out and ran behind cover with one of his other squadmates. Dave stated to blindfire over his cover until a shot came and took his DH-17 out of his hand. His squad of 20 is down to 6 and have killed off the enemies. Dave's squad heads towards the other squad in hopes they are still alive. | |
