September 18, 2009 today at aproximately 4:50 AM all armors were given new looks for example, the LR8 has a new name, and looks ugly, the XR22 is now a... Kevlar vest? - DF Wiki Yea, I know I died but I rather like my "Kevlar Vest", looks a lot better than the pallet swap of the Flack Jacket. Take a look at the new armor images, I rather like the way the sports armor looks. Kind of wished that the Mastercrafted items had some variation to them, like a color swap or something.

| I absolutely HATE the new LR8.
I do NOT want to be wearing a potato sack! |

| I don't care what it looks like, so long as it still works fine. | |

| Meh. Ima be investing my strength to 55 on all my alts, just so I don't gotta wear it.
I'm sorry, but, there's other armours with better stats, and a new armour with no? strength requirement and better stats than the new LR8, so, I don't really see the point in keeping an ugly potato sack. |

| It's an elite shop armor though. I think. | |

| Nah, only new Elite Shop armour is the Dusk Reactive. |

| Wow... This is the first DF update that I genuinely and inconsolably hate with a passion.
Flak Jacket - Looks like someone took a burlap sack and had sex with it.
Kevlar vest - Reminds me of something an electrician might wear to hold his tools.
Sports armor - Looks retarded. Certainly a realistic addition, but is still retarded.
Zylon vest - Reminds me of Rebbecca Chamber's stupid white medical STARS vest.
SN42 - It looks like something Link might wear if he were obese. Potato sack is also correct
SNL reactive - Looks like a prettied up version of the old mesh armor. Stupid.
Better reactive suit - Looks exactly like the weaker version... Pfft...
I haven't seen the two elite armors, nor do I think I want to, and I despise the addition of the new requirement-less armor.
The old armor line also possessed a certain sense of continuity and advancement that I was fond of. The new armor line seems random as well as aesthetically challenged.
All of my hate. |

| So...you hate this more than the amputator update which made melee pointless to level? Wows.
Oh, hey btw. You have access to a computer? :o

| Why yes, yes I do.
Although I dislike the idea of the Amputator, that dislike is quelled for two reasons.
1 (and most importantly) = The strongest melee weapon still requires 100 melee, and cannot be bought with credits. As good as it is, the Amputator is still only 2nd best.
2 (And quite hypocritically) = I have an Amputator. It's hard to stay mad at an overpowered weapon when you own said overpowered weapon.
The armor update on the other hand... Well, our awesome armors were taken away and replaced by their ugly cousins. |

| Probably a little late on this but I've discovered something.
With the new armor, as it takes damage, it begins to lose color, indicating how damaged it is.

| Today, I noticed that the armors have been changed a bit more.
Despite the fact that they just got larger, I actually like them now. Except for the flak jacket, which still looks like a sack.
Also, some of the armors use the exact same image. I dislike this. |

| Furthermore, there seems to be some variations to the armors as well. They're given slightly different names, but are essentially the same item. Fore example.
There are Flack Jackets, and then there are Desert Flack Jackets. There's Sn-42`s and then there are Green Sn-42`s. There are Kevlar Vests, and then there's Black Kevlar Vests. Even though the two look the same.

| Oh really? That'll be something interesting to look into the next time I'm in a Dead Frontier mood.
*Hopes for a set of purple armor* |

| I think my account may go inactive because the Library can't handle Dead Frontier and my computer can't handle anything. :/ | |

| That's no good D: Have you tried defraging and cleaning your hard disk space?
Oh, also Trigger. From what DF Wiki says, the "color" swaps would only be for the items name. So your armor won't actually be purple, just it's text.

| Some Zylon Vests actually appear White, and some actually appear Blue.
But that's it that I've seen.
I'm sure it'll be fixed with the Avatar update.
Pest, give your account to a friend, and tell him to log in every week or so. |

| After seeing its effects on the new avatar system, I've changed my mind. The new armors are f***ing amazing.
Though I still wish every armor had a different graphic (Or at least slightly different). There are still four pairs that share the same image. |
