Just because you disagree with an idea means you can make fun of it?

I have noticed a lot of people bashing various belief systems of some religions and calling them things such as idiotic retards and so forth.

Is it the feeling of security you get among peers who have become faithless based upon their own belief systems just like you have that creates an environment were you can make fun of those whom you feel are idiotic in comparison to you because they stick with the religion they were born?

I am in no way saying we have to accept their beliefs but we can honor their decisions all the same. Most of you would take offense if I said something along the lines of "niggers are a failure of a race we could do without. We might as well just nuke africa.." or "gays should be slaughtered like the jews because their equally useless to society" (I do not mean these things I am just using them as examples..).

For those of you not catching my drift I believe religion should be treated with the same respect as race and life choices. Not make fun of it because we do not agree with it. So if we can all treat religion with respect I would appreciate it.

Well, most religions have it written in whatever holy books they have that other religions are wrong. They believe in the 'ignorance' policy.

I have no problem with religion.
