My hate and rage can go unranted no longer

I'm sick and tired of it. For the past two months, whenever I log on, this is pretty much all that ever loads. However, on rare occasion, my health, food, and armor indicators will appear. Also, even more rarely, the outpost will load. Even the DF logo appears at times. However, my avatar and weapons almost never load, and CERTAINLY not all of them at the same time.

That was before I upgraded to Flash 10. Now, the following picture, as stated earlier, is pretty much all that ever appears.

No, clearing my cache doesn't work.

Help? Playing DF is completely impossible at this point, and I don't feel like waiting three months until I get my laptop.

Edit - The result is the same, regardless of what browser I'm using. I've tried IE, Firefox, and Chrome.

I think I fixed it.

well i have 3 solutions to your problem

1. stop looking up rape porn and the FBI will leave your internet access alone
2. stop having multiple tabs open. I have a max of 2 up at a time. One for DF and one for Umbrella
3. stop using firefox. I understand it is "supposidly" the sexiest browser around but if your computer is like mine, you may have a better chance loading on IE instead of herpes infested fox.

Bad flash update. Completely uninstall all flash and flash extensions. disable all firefox add-ons. run windows update, then install the latest version of flash.

I already told him to do that. Except for add on's, but apparently it didn't work.

Not like he wants it to work. RS is way more important than DF.

Runescape has become too kiddy. Dead Frontier is on its way there, but not yet.

RS was always kiddy, if anything the kiddyness has been lessening up. (removal of some censors, minor curse words appearing in NPC dialogue)

RS has had naked girls in it for as long as I can remember.

RS is old crap struggling to survive.

DF is new zombie lover fantasy, that evolves at least once every 6 months

Jesus christ are you serious? RS has been getting better if anything, DF started going downhill ever since it was released. The "evolving" it has done has been for the worst"


Though I do dislike Dungeoneering very very much at this point.

RS = The only game I've ever played that actually has too much to do in it, and more is being added constantly.

DF = You beat the game at level 20 if you have $300. Level 40 (Which takes a week) if you don't, factoring in a few extra levels if you suck at raising cash. DF was once an amazing game, but then we got GAUs, super-robotic armor, and the difficulty in general was greatly reduced. I remember back when you could only get 100% exp maximum rather than 200, and you got none at all if you were under nourished. That was awesome. DF has steadily gotten worse as a whole, save for the avatar update, and I sorely hope 3D can breathe some life into it.



RS is like a fine wine in an ugly bottle.

DF is like getting raped on your birthday.



Either way, both games cover entirely different genres, and as such are fairly incomparable. Honestly though, RS gets WAY more hate than it deserves.


I will say this though, since it sounds like I'm just plain ripping on DF : It's indisputably the best in it's field, which is why I still play it. The next best thing is... Well... Text based.

However, the games were not being compared so much in overall content, but rather the direction they are going in with recent updates.

DF is progressively killing itself with Neil holding tight on the reins.

RS is progressively improving itself, ever since Andrew Gower stepped down as leader producer and Mark Gerhard stepped up. Mark Gerhard introduced the new graphics, many new minigames, so many new quests, and even new f2p content. He also pioneered the removal of the censor, and the introduction of horribly violent actions and blood.

As for comparing it on MMO status, I'm just going to point out the horrible latency lag between all players on multiplayer servers. And it's not even massively multiplayer. You're restriced to 6 people in your game. DF fails as an MMO, which is the only level it can be compared to RS at.

To be fair, DF will soon be fixing that problem.

Df is in beta still. And yet people love it. DF 3D is gonna be like the first time Neo learned about the Matrix

you guys just arnt commited to DF. personally I myself:

Collect Discontinued items
Aim to reach the Overal top 100 list on everything (already #21 for PvP, and the very bottom of 100 strongest
Get every item GC

eh and personally its just too much fun in my opinion. Sure multiplayer sync sucks now but 3D is just gonna be fucking amazing

I remember when the concept of even the beta was amazing. Neil managed to screw it up totally.

Now the same thing is happening with 3D. We expect it to be great, but let's just remember who's comandeering it. The same guy who's already royally failed the past 2 years straight. 3D DF turning out to be anything better than crap would be a miracle.

I used to have high hopes for it, until I got Left 4 Dead. The only chance of me even playing 3D DF is if it's somehow better than L4D. Which would be even more of a miracle than if it were just to barely skip past failure.

That is, assuming Neil can even release it. He's kept his game in beta for over 2 years now. This kid needs to hurry it up. Start programming, stop devising methods of gathering money from your beta players, Neil. GM, Amp, GAU, even that cane of doom thing. If only you implemented such innovative ideas into your actual game, instead of your marketing act.

He needs to sell T-shirts and mugs like Urban Dead does for events. "I looted Caiger Mall and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" after the first Big Bash.

Ah, I remember playing Urban Dead years ago! I think I started playing when it first came out. Haven't played it since though.

I agree with the idea of DF shaking players down for cash, but I think the 3D will improve it. I hope it will at least.

Eh, to be fair Syn, expecting a free MMO to be as good as L4D is expecting a bit too much.
