Alas, I am now one year closer to death, and nearly a 1/4'th a century old. Time sure has
gone by rather quickly, at least in my collective conscience. I look back on the last decade
and remember a simpler time. A happier time. A time when I was all but new to the internet.

I had not yet discovered ****. I had not the fanatical obsession with zombies or the
resident evil games. The twin towers were still standing and everyone was blissfully unaware
of the impending recession and near/inevitable global meltdown, and not the kind caused by
the melting of polar icecaps and greenhouse gases. I was not the person that stands here
before you. I was incomplete.

It truly was the best of times and the worst. Many blessings and hardships have come and
gone in those years, and I face new ones every day. Best thing of all though? I get to share
them with you now. My relationship with you all here has transcended beyond that of a mere
administrator and Dead Frontier player. I consider you all my friends, young and well, younger
still. Hope you'll forgive an old fool and his sentiments. :p

Happy belated birthday birky, and don't forget: 24 is 'not' old.

It's only old if you spend all of your time inside playing with yourself. And I totally get the zombie infatuation. I leave you with a little anecdote:

I woke up this morning, about 5:30AM. Cold sweat, panting, whole 9 yards. I legitimately had a zombie apocalypse nightmare and got jolted out of it just as I was being run down by the undead. I wasn't thinking clearly, and was 5 minutes into my preparation for my zombie contingency plan before I thought to check CNN for the latest news on the outbreak and noticed there wasn't one.

Actually, 24 is ancient. It means you were starting kindergarten when I was still but a wretched fetus. It means you were shaving when I learned what vaginas are really for. In fact, I declare anyone born before the fall of Soviet Russia to be both null and void.

Luckily for Birkin though, I think wrinkles are sexy.

With age comes wisdom. Alas, the more wisdom I acquire, the more I wish to forget.

Kind of ironic, huh?

Last year was an interesting experience to say the least. I began my preparations for the
GED, which I will finally complete on Saturday. I met two of my best friends from the internet
and yet, lost a dear friend whom I grew up with when he passed away. I got to go to my first
anime convention with those same friends, and I'm already making plans for my next convention
in June.

If I could go back two years into the past, and tell myself all of the things I'd accomplish
in the year to come. I'd probably have a mental breakdown, wondering how I was able
to go back in time to speak with myself. Thus ensuring that none of the events that I
spoke of would never have come to pass. Or I wouldn't believe it. Whichever makes you
laugh the hardest. :3

and to Claude, I say this to you: Meh, they're partially true. I do not truly see a date for
Saturday night when I see a corpse. I see dinner. :3 Pass the hot sauce and a bib. I call
dibs on the lady fingers.

word dude. If I told myself a couple of years ago that failing a course was no big deal, and that I wouldn't have a job when I graduated, and that would be perfectly fine, my fucking mind would have exploded.

Funny how you re-prioritize things as you get older.
