So seriously, what the fuck is all this shit about? I go to youtube today and try to watch a video.
I log in and all the sudden I get re-directed to google and get the following:

I don't have a google account, nor do I want one and I have had this happen in the past before. So,
I restart my pc and try again, it doesn't change. I clear my browser cache of passwords and site cookies,
nothing changes. I tried a different browser, nothing changes.....

So what the hell is up with this bullshit? Why are they trying to force me to link my account to a google
account that I certainly don't want? Is this happening to anyone else?

What's worse is that you need a mobile number to make a google account.

Or at least in Canada.

I've had a google account for a while. and I don't really use youtube.


However this is quite the heaping pile of bullshit if google is in fact forcing you to make an account for them just to use Youtube on the grounds that they own it.

You don't need a cellphone to create a google account in the USA, Kanden.

Just make a Gmail account, link it to your Youtube, and that's that.

I don't want to make a g-mail account for the sole purpose of gaining regular access to a
site that I've ALREADY got a working account with, and have had it since 2006.

"Because we WANT you to" isn't a valid or good enough reason for forcing this on anyone.

Weird. It required a cell number the last time I tried to make an account. However, my cellphone was destroyed at the time, so I just said fuck it and went with Yahoo.
