Survivor One : Zachary (Z)

And so it begins...

Zak biked through the city on his way to deliver a message down town. He loved his job, it was a care free one. All he had to do was just go through the city everyday, and he loved it. As he was reminiscing a UPS truck came out of nowear and hit his front wheel throwing him clear of the bike.

"What the fuck are you doing" Zak yelled after pulling himself together.

He then went up to the driver side window and was about to tear the guy a new one when the driver tried to tear out his throat.

"What the hell"

The man grabbed at him and Zak struggled to keep him off him, he then grabbed at the crowbar that was sticking out the window and whacked at the mans head, once, twice, three times.

"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit."

Zak then got up to look to see what everyone else thought of this and saw similar things happening everywhere.

He then started to run.

- Pry open a manhole and slip into the sewers.

Keep running to the next block

Unsure of what to do, I simply ran down the street for a few minutes, trying to make sense of what was happening (And mourning the death of my bike). I made note of how eerily quiet my surroundings were... Raccoon City was never quiet...

Suddenly, I came upon a lone man, standing in the middle of the street. His back was turned to me, and he seemed to be shaking as if he were cold.


What will you do...?
- Attack the man, while you have the upper hand!
- Speak to the man. He might be normal.
- Sneak around the man... He might be like that truck driver.
- Go back the way you came.
- Slip into one of the many building nearby.
- Get into one of the many abandoned vehicles nearby.

Attack the man, while you have the upper hand!

I didn't give it a second thought. Gripping my crowbar, I lunged at the man, aiming for his head. With a sickening noise, the prongs split into the man's skull, spitting blood and bone to the concrete.

The man fell to the ground, convulsing like crazy. Flopping over onto his back, he looked up at me with eyes full of confusion and pain. It was then that I realized the man was normal. Definitely not like the guy that had tried to take a chunk out of me.

And then...

Silence. The man lay still, and convulsed no more. The only sounds to be heard were those of the crimson droplets falling from my crowbar.

And then he was up again, and nearly upon me, as if his skull had never been pierced. Gasping, I wrenched to the side, causing him to lose what balance he had. If the man had been normal before, he certainly wasn't anymore.

As he came back at me, it was evident in his eyes that all humanity had fled from his soul.

Aim for torso

Rearing back, I swung the crowbar with all of my might, lodging the teeth fairly deep into the man's chest. With a nasty twist, I ripped my weapon back out, taking a sizable clump of muscle and tissue with it. The man lurched forward awkwardly, as bits of rib and lung fell out of the hole. However, he just kept coming at me. With another much deliberate lurch forward, he sought to grab ahold of me. However, I managed to jump out of the way in time.

Aim for the head

I violently lurched forward, looking to scatter my foe's brains to the wind. However, the only thing that went flying into the wind was the crowbar. The force of the failed attack actually sent my weapon flying several meters away.

Feeling particularly annoyed, I only barely managed to dodge the enemy's second lunge.

Quickly making an escape, I sprinted towards the place where my crowbar had fallen... Only to discover an open manhole.

"Shit... It must have fallen down..." I determined after a brief moment of angry incredulity.

From behind, I could hear the man rapidly approaching.

With a grimace, I decided to take the messy way out. Quickly hoisting myself into the hole, I descended the slippery ladder. It must have been a good thirty feet deep.

Oddly, the crazed man gave chase... But he didn't even bother to use the ladder. He fell past me, swinging his arms the whole way down. With a dreadful crack, I saw as he split his head open on the walkway below.

"You won't be giving me any more trouble." I said with a sigh once I reached the bottom myself. "What's the world coming to?"

It didn't take me long to find my crowbar. It had landed fairly close to the ladder.

I briefly scanned the tunnel for some sort of lightsaber, or vibroblade... But all I found was shit and piss.

Go back up the ladder.

Eager to get out of this smelly, subterannean slime-shaft, I began the long climb back to the surface.

However... As I neared the top, the light suddenly vanished as the manhole-cover slid back into place.

"Let me out, dammit!" I shouted, banging at the underside of the lid with my fist. It wouldn't budge. I was officially trapped.

That's when I began to hear things...

After sliding back down the ladder, I noticed something on the body of the man that'd just fallen to a grisly end. Carefully snatching it up, I discovered that it was a Tec-9 submachinegun.

"Awesome."

The noises continued... From the sound of them, they were coming from ahead.\

- Go back up the ladder.
- Head forward, down the tunnel.
- Head backward, down the tunnel.
- Shout. Make yourself heard. Maybe those are people ahead.

Head forward, down the tunnel.

Immediately, I beat a path forward... And quickly found what had been making that noise. It was not a group of creatures, like I had thought. It was big and green, and had massive claws. Really, it looked like some sort of hellacious frog. But it sure didn't sound like one.

And it was coming right at me.

Crow bar.

Brandishing my crowbar, I lept forward to meet my attacker, who responded by impaling me through the chest with a rather long claw.

It hurt in a manner that words simply cannot describe. However, judging by my lack of death, I guessed it didn't pierce anything important.

Then I fell into the shit-water, which began to seep into my wound. That hurt quite a bit more.

Luckily, I was too angry to be frightened. Or notice the smell.
