Best FPS

I'm not a fan of Halo very much (though Co-Op Halo 3 = winsauce), and the trailer wasn't very outstanding.

However.

I do enjoy Red vs Blue :3

If were going to start a discussion about Red Vs. Blue shouldn't that be moved to a separate thread then Halo: Reach? Seeing as it is off topic and panning away from the general discussion.

(Yes, I'm aware it has to do with halo.. However it has NOTHING to do with the release, opinions, and gameplay of Halo: Reach..)

As for best FPS? I couldn't personally say any single game is the best FPS.

Overall? Source Engine. I'll count that as a game, because of the fact that it includes Counter-Strike Source, Half-Life 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, all of the thousands of mods...

Etc.

Most "WTFLOL" moment-including game would be a three-way tie between L4D, L4D2, and Halo.

Biggest most epic battles would be MAG.

But yeah. I couldn't say Halo is the best FPS. I'd go into a huge list but I really am not in the mood. If it is demanded of me, then I might, but I really don't want to have to put in so much effort.

Anyways. Yeah.

I actually still wanna catch up on the Halo games, regardless. XD

As you can clearly see this area is called the Game Room were people generally post to talk about games they like. Sometimes there are threads for hating upon a game but usually the person to make the thread decides if it will be said game positive or said game negative through the words he uses within the first post.

Clearly I am posting a thread within this NEUTRAL area known as the game room and as far as I see there is nowhere within the thread saying not to talk about liking Halo.. So since I made this thread for pro Halo (Notice my excitement within the first post). Which makes you the meat muncher in meh veggie thread.. I agree, Goldeneye was the BEST. And, if it had online multiplayer, it probably would've ruined it. Thank god that it's multiplayer was so great, as well as its single player. Best FPS known to man.

No, the people who simply said "I don't really like the game" aren't the ones I'm completely focusing my fire towards (You just decided to step in the way and take a few bullets when I was unloading my rage gun). It is completely fine that you don't like the game because that is solely stating that you, and you alone realize that it is only your opinion and others do not share the same opinion. I was directing my hatred to those who simply said "Halo sucks." And unnecessary and close minded thing to say in a thread made to share the joy of Halo.

There cannot really be a best FPS, but Alien:Resssurection was certainly amongst the elite. Scary, hard and just damn excellent in every way. You could even use the playstation mouse with it. How rare is that, ay?

There's no doubt. Deus Ex. BIA is good. Fallout 3 is good. Left 4 Dead is good. But nothing can match the awesome RPG/FPS hybrid gameplay of Deus Ex.

I don't count Deus Ex and System Shock 1/2 as FPS. Neither do I count Fallout 3 as one either.

And, Bad Company 2 is by far NOT the best FPS. Sorry.

Yeah i'll agree with that. I'd have to say that the best FPS is always going to be down to opinion. It will always depend on what you want.

Just because they're not based on modern or ancient warfare doesn't mean they're not FPS. The classification of a FPS is a shooter, played out in first person mode. Granted, both Fallout 3 and L4D have the option of playing in third person view as well, making them a 3rd / 1st person shooter, but Deus Ex has no such option. It's a shooter played entirely fom a first person viewpoint, making it a FPS.

Unless of course you count the fact that melee weapons and features exist in it, making it not entirely a shooter game. In that case, the oly FPS that exist in the world is the arcade games of yore, where you only wield a gun, such as House of the Dead, and other arcade classics.

If that's the case, it's a tie between Duck Hunt and RE Survivor. Wait... Did you get a knife in Survivor? Dangit. Let's just say Duck Hunt to avoid confusion.
