| Monolith stuff; AVP2 and NOLF1 were very good. Deux Ex and System Shock1&2 will always be legendary.
Oh, how could I forget STALKER? And the original FarCry was superlative for its time. If only they had not introduced those stupid mutant monkeys into it... fah!
(Twice as hilarious with the mod that adds fists back into the game. I even made one which allowed you to cloak Predator-style at one time...)
I suppose the Time Crisis series and the like does not count.

| Does House of the Dead 2 count as an FPS?
If so, I change my vote to that.

- Just because they're not based on modern or ancient warfare doesn't mean they're not FPS. The classification of a FPS is a shooter, played out in first person mode. Granted, both Fallout 3 and L4D have the option of playing in third person view as well, making them a 3rd / 1st person shooter, but Deus Ex has no such option. It's a shooter played entirely fom a first person viewpoint, making it a FPS.
Unless of course you count the fact that melee weapons and features exist in it, making it not entirely a shooter game. In that case, the oly FPS that exist in the world is the arcade games of yore, where you only wield a gun, such as House of the Dead, and other arcade classics.
If that's the case, it's a tie between Duck Hunt and RE Survivor. Wait... Did you get a knife in Survivor? Dangit. Let's just say Duck Hunt to avoid confusion. It's a FPRPAG. First-Person Role Playing Action Game As is System Shock 2. And System Shock 2 is closer to a shooter than Deus Ex is.

| I would have to say my favorite fps was Bioshock.. It was just all around fun for me. Fallout 3 would get the win but I don't consider it a full blooded FPS because of V.A.T.S.
Can't wait to see how Halo: Reach's FPS is. Beta was awesome but the game is supposed to be much better..
Still my vote goes to Bioshock |

Still my vote goes to Bioshock If you liked Bioshock, System Shock will probably be a favourite as well. Unfortunately I don't count System Shock or Fallout as FPS.

| Yeah. System Shock 2 is pretty awesome. The Deus Ex series, as well.
I'd still say Half-Life 2 though.

| best FPS in my book are
1. Duke Nukem 64 - you know how great it is if you ever played it. I mean he needs explosive shotgun shells before he's satisfied with a shotgun in the game.
2. Red Faction - fun as hell and revolutionary how you could break through walls. Too bad the series sucks and the first game was the only greatness to come from it.
3. Halo 1 - yup origional beats all other halos, i mean how many people sawed/drilled holes in the house to link up 4 xboxes for 16 players death matches. I cant think of any...
4. Doom - I mean come one who does not love to ply doom, it was pure greatness and stil is today. (PS if you play and need some extra firepower "idkfa" )
5. House of the Dead - the ultimate arcade game series for shooters. I've proly dumped around 800 bucks into the first game over the years since i played. Its so great almost every arcade at least one of the series there and over half of those is the origional. Only arcade console i'd ever consider buying (screw buying 'disks' )
I wanted to go into more detail but im on a time limit here.

| another of my favorite quotes from season five
Grif: why do we need sarge anyways? All he did was yell at us and tell us we suck. Why dont we just split up his duties? You yell at me and i'll tell you you suck.
Simmons: Get in the hole!!!
Grif: You suck! See the system's working already.
