Evil Corporations (Besides Umbrella)

Help me list them.

So far I have:

Tell me if I'm missing any. I'm trying to get a list going.

BP. Oh, wait, are we talking real and fakes here or just fakes?

Was Skynet a corporation?

I add Shinra (FF7) and Sombra (The Dark Tower) to the list.

And skynet is a program. The AI which was designed for defense and turned on humanity when it achieved self-awareness.

It was developed by CyberDyne industries, which is already on the list.

Tri-Cell from RE5 is missing. Got it in before Ricardo did!

That's because in essence, Tri-cell is part of Umbrella.

I was going to try and defend InGeN's reputation here, but then I remembered that it was
portrayed differently in the movie than in the book. The novels talk about several accidents
that have occurred off panel (?), resulting in multiple deaths of employees. Though lawsuits
are issued, I believe the families are paid for their silence. While this -is- hinted at in the
first film, what ISN'T mentioned in the alarming rate of infant deaths occurring on the main
land due to bizarre animal attacks that suddenly stop when a strange, reptile-like creature
is killed and sent for examination. So yea...

If we're going to add InGeN to the list, then you're going to have to add heir rivals BioSyn.
Hell, they should get extra points for going that extra mile for having their company name
sound evil. Though they're never directly named and only mentioned off-handedly in the
films, BioSyn are the ones responsible for Denis Nedry's betrayal early on in the story. And
while neither the films or the books give us much detail into just how corrupt BioSyn really
is, one needs only to look into the character Lewis Dodgson to realize that they deal on the
darker side of things.

Xanatos Enterprises: In my opinion Gargoyles is one of Disney's (who should be on this list,
too.)best animated series of all time, and sadly doesn't get nearly as much love as it really
should. Hailed at the time for its gorgeous art, character development and complex story
arcs, Gargoyles was perhaps the only show that matched Batman: The Animated Series
quality.

David Xanatos is our series main antagonist. He's the head CEO of his father's company,
Xanatos Enterprises. Much like Umbrella, Xanatos Enterprises has it's fair share of stock in
many questionable venues: Advanced Genetics Research (Gene-U-Tech), Military Grade
Robotics and Weaponry (Scarab Corp Robotics Firm) and even the most nefarious of all:
Sports Entertainment! (Pack Media Studios). Besides the typical corporate espionage that
seems to be the norm today, Xanatos Enterprises also has the following crimes accredited
to their name: Breaking the Time/Space Continuum for personal profit. Crimes against
humanity (cloning in various forms, creating cyborgs.). Ecological Terrorism (from forest
fires, to oil spills not unlike BP.).

DBR Corporation: This company from The House Of The Dead series is much like Umbrella.
One of the top researches, Dr. Curien, is researching the very nature of life and death in
a vain hope to cure his sons terminal illness, losing his sanity in the process. His research
yields a horde of undead monstrosities that escape and wreak havoc upon the laboratory.
It doesn't end there, however. Fourteen months later, the director of DBR Corp, following
in Curien's research, creates another incident, this time in Venice, Italy. Despite the best
efforts to contain the undead horde, it seems that the events that transpire lead to an
apocalyptic scenario later on. And really, you can't get more evil than that.

Cerberus, sort of.

hey now. I have friends who work for microsoft. very dear friends. and it is a complete coincidence that they happen to be totally evil.

Krakov - "Nukes? Check. Gunboats? Check. Massive military-grade weapon stockpiles? Check. Co-conspirator with another Evil Corporation to solidify power of the tatters of humanity? Check."

Nanosoft - I can't evil begin to describe all the stuff these guys have done. Let us just say that ripping out the half-cyborg brain of a legendary military commander and using it to act as a central processor for your outlawed capital-class monstrosity of destruction, for plans of Galactic Domination is merely the half of it.

--and the back story to these corps is that along with others they funded, and probably designed the World-Solar System war in the first place so that they would reign supreme from its aftermath. Sheesh. And even then these two, out of all the others, got so greedy that they had to have total control for themselves. When it looked like they could get it, Nanosoft sold Krakov down the river so their corp could assume the mantle.
