| I just ordered this: http://www.bandaicg.com/residentevil/In 3 to 5 days I will be getting this in the mail, and then: the nightmare begins! The game first launched in December of 2010, with a follow up expansion set released in April of this year and a third one based on the Outbreak series confirmed. The game is interesting, it's not something I've ever played before. Players start by picking a character and a 10x card deck called the inventory. The remainder of the cards are placed within an area called the resource area. This area is essentially a shop, you can buy ammo, weapons, health items, and other cards that may prove useful. The other deck is the mansion deck. The mansion deck is where all the monster cards and other special cards go. Players begin a turn by drawing 5 cards from their inventory, from there they can do any number of 5 options during their turn, including buying from the resource pool, using items and action cards, attack and of course, exploring the mansion. Exploring the mansion involves making an attack, to do this the player chooses which weapons they want to use and how much ammo they wish to bring, then they flip a card over from the mansion deck. If its a monster and they meet the requirements to beat it, they defeat the monster and claim the card. If they lose, the monster deals damage to the character then retreats to the bottom of the deck. If it's a special item, the player claims it. This keeps on until someone beats the final boss which happens to be the biggest baddie in the deck, at which point the game ends. The player who scored the most monster kills wins. This is just a rough generalization on how game play works, there's a lot of other details that come in to play as well, but I'm definitely looking forward to playing this! The game can be played by 1 to 4 players at a time, so it can be enjoyed solo or in a party. For more info on the game, check out the wiki: http://residentevil.wikia.com/Resident_Evil:_The_Deck_Building_Game/.

| WHY DOES CHRIS REDFIELD HAVE THE SAME HEALTH AS JILL.
CLEARLY HIS EXTRA HEALTH WAS THE ONE ADVANTAGE IN CHOOSING HIM OVER HER IN RE1. AND THE FACT HE STARTED WITH A LIGHTER IN REMAKE. | |

| And so the horror begins... I received my package today and I must say, as I opened it, I was presented with perhaps the SEXIEST box I've ever laid eyes on. One could easily store their ps1 games in this box, but you'd have to lay the ps2 boxes down in order for them to fit properly as the box is a little too shallow for that. Bellow is the list of cards the game offers. The format will follow: card type, amount, name. Character Cards1x Albert Wesker 1x Leon S. Kennedy 1x Claire Redfield 1x Sheva Alomar 1x Barry Burton 1x Ada Wong 1x Jack Krauser 1x Chris Redfield 1x Jill Valentine 1x Rebecca Chambers Weapons5x Grenade 5x Longbow 5x Submission 11x Combat Knife 1 Survival Knife (deals an extra +5 damage) 5x Six-Shooter (broken butterfly) 1x Gatling Gun 1 Rocket Launcher 9x Handgun 1x Burst-fire Handgun 4x Assault Sub Machine Gun 1x Full-Bore Machine Gun 4x Pump-Shot Gun 1x Automatic Shot Gun (Street Sweeper) 4x Bolt-Action Rifle 1x Semi-Automatic Rifle Action Cards10x Mansion Foyer 5x Deadly Aim 5x Shattered Memories 10x Escape from the dead city 5x Reload 6x The Merchant (WELCOME!) 5x Umbrella Corporation (We got our own card. ) 5x Back to back (Belly to belly! I don give a damn cause im stone dead already, ya!) 5x Item Management 5x Ominous Battle 3x Master of unlocking 5x Struggle for survival Mansion / Infected Cards1x Time bonus+1 1x Time bonus+2 1x Time bonus+3 2x Combo bonus 1x Gatling Gun Case 1x Rocket Launcher Case 3x Majini 2x Zombie (Male) 2x Zombie (Female) 3x Zombie Butcher (It's actually the cook from the diner in Claire's opening in Re2) 3x Bui Kichwa 3x Licker 1x Nemesis T-Type 2x Hunter 2x Mimicry Marcus 1x Uroboros Ahrei 3x Dr. Salvador 3x Gatling Gun Majini 3x Cerberus 1x El Gigante 1x Executioner Items28x Ammo (x10) 15x Ammo (x20) 15x Ammo (x30) 6x Green Herb 3x Yellow Herb 5x First Aid Spray Let me talk a bit about the quality of the cards themselves. These things are thin as hell dude, they're maybe 2/3'rds as thick as a yugioh card. They're made from the same sort of materials as a yugioh card too, which sort of worries me because they're vulnerable degrading over time. If one of these cards gets bent, its going to be painfully obvious. That sort of thing isn't out of place in collectible card games because, well, the less there are of a card, the more valuable the surviving copies are. That's alright for this line of game, but the re deck building game isn't like that, it's a self-contained game, you would think the cards would be a bit more robust. tl/dr: I gotta buy 250 card sleeves and I dun like it. | |

| Chapter 1-1| Completion Time: 2:00 ---------------
Jack Krauser (My friend) Decorations: 5 Enemies killed: Bui Kichwa, Mimicry Marcus, Cerberus Accuracy: 90% Deaths: 1

--------------------
So I just finished my first foray into the Re Deck Building Game, and I must say, I enjoyed the experience. It was a bit rocky at first cause me and my bud decided to play the game as we went, so our game time was significantly longer than what the game boasts on the box, but it helped us learn the basic paces of the game. Though, we're going to have to study the rules a bit before we get used to it cause I'm fairly certain we fucked up on some of the rulings.
Now the lil statistic thing I did up top there was mostly just for fun, though most of the information is accurate. The accuracy represents how many times we fought against creatures in the mansion and failed to kill them in 1 turn. I missed more monsters than my friend did but made the most kills in the end.
Pro-tip: The game manual says you may need some counters or otherwise some means of tracking damage. I happened to have all of my old pokemon TCG counters which used increments of 10, which makes them all but perfect for this game. I took some of the poison counters to represent death counters, and put 20 on the paper back of them. Each time a character dies, they return to the next turn with -20 to their maximum health. This keeps on til they eventually die.
With the smaller damage counters, I printed 5 on the back of them, so that if say, a monster deals 25 damage I can use 3 counters with 1 flipped over to show the 5, thus, 25 damage. :3 I believe I've full-filled my recycling quota for this year.
I cant wait to get the Alliance deck and then the outbreak expansion. | |
