| It's really more of a "Yay~" situation.
Imma be a Warrior/Monk, and Havoc's already an Elementalist/Necromancer (He's playing the demo) |

| Warrior/anything really is good, since Warriors use "Adrenaline" instead of "Energy"
Only problem is they don't have a lot of Energy.
I really never liked Necromancers. Either because of
A) I suck at them
B) I find them pointless outside of the Main Storyline. |

| My and Havoc's copies of Guild Wars arrived today. It works on his comp. (He's a necromancer named Morte Vampirus)
Since he did the ordering, both games arrived at his house. As I'm typing this message, he's on his way to my house to give me mine.
HOPEFULLY it'll work. I see no reason for it not to, besides my crappy connection time. |

| Alas, it failed, as I had suspected.
I thought the game disk would possess the entire client, so I wouldn't have to download it from the internet. Alas, that isn't the case.
So for now, it looks like I'm back to my old, MMOs =\ |

| My internet automatically cuts off after eight hours. I can download a mere 5.6mb every thirty minutes if I leave the computer alone, with all other tabs turned off.
Now, this wouldn't normally be a problem since I have star-downloader, but GW is obtained in a way that I can't use it to successfully pause and resume the download. |

| Well I have created a guild on Guild Wars finally..
After spending hours contemplating a name and failing many many many.. times I have decided to name the guild "Brothers Through Chaos" (tagged BTC). I find the title fitting to the prophecies story line (as chaos has indeed struck the land and even better it pays attribute to one of my oldest (and favorite) rps i made (LiH).
The only problem I see in the distant future (and i didn't know this when i made the guild) is that it costs 100 gold to invite players into a guild.. Expensive.
So if you are interested in joining then i would ask a 50 gold donation to help pay for your admittance into the guild (I will earn the rest as it seems to be my duty as admin and making 50 gold isn't that hard if you farm for items).
I may not be administrator of Umbrella Corporation anymore (mostly because I got tired of Dead Frontier and UC served little purpose after) but I have hopes that BTC will one day become a thriving and possibly well known guild in the Guild Wars game. This is aiming high since hardly anyone in UC plays the game at the moment..
The only ones I know who can play at the moment are: Jarki (member), Setting Sun (member), Austin (has to find disk and remember account), Z1 (has to get full game)
If anyone else has or is getting or is interested in GW just pm me or reply in the topic. ^^
P.S. If people join the guild and it gets a good few members then I will create a web site using the same site creator as UC for a BTC Guild site (even if you aren't an official member of BTC you will still be able to drop by and chat). -----
Now to rant and rave about what I've seen so far in the game.
Guild wars is an utterly fun and addictive game in which a player can actively socialize in a mmo environment. The graphics are well made for a free to play mmo and the plot is very interesting so far. If i could describe Guild Wars with another game I would highly regard it to that of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The music in both games is similar and besides a great difference in graphics the abilities in the games aren't that far apart either (although there is more to choose from in GW).
Guild wars is highly party based and it is very hard if impossible to survive alone in the wilderness against enemies close to your level.. Currently in pre-searing people can only have 2 member parties but in later levels parties can increase up to 10 people. It is also impossible to fail your stats up in the game as you can redistribute them at the nearest town if you want giving you a wide range of what you can do and who you are playing with.
Of Topic: A cool thing I have found about guild wars is there are color dyes you can use to color your amour (you can also mix colors to get a desired effect). This can be used to your advantage as it makes your armor set unique to others.
One thing that bothers me about the game is the utter amount of enemies you face against. I have no idea how it is being a warrior but as a magician a group of 4 enemies your level means gtfo and find a better tactic than just running at them. I have died numerous times in game with my necromancer so far..
I assume I will play Guild Wars every day possible in the near future and with Guild Wars Factions awaiting me as soon as I utterly vanquish Prophecies I can't see getting tired of it any time soon.
The game isn't that expensive (costs about 20 dollars or less for Prophecies/Factions Combo) and is well worth the cost. After playing the game demo I had no regrets paying for the full version whatsoever.
If you are interested in trying the free trial version of the game to get a feel for it and see if you would like to buy it then head over to the guild wars main site and do so. If you like mmorpg's, medieval games, and lots and lots of quests and an interesting plot, then i greatly urge you to look into Guild Wars.
Guild Wars FTW! |
