Forum Changes

There's a few changes made to the forums, which are listed here.

1. There is no longer a Portal.

2. There is now a "Quick Log-In" at the bottom of the page

3. Profiles now are split up into tabs. Check it out, it's pretty cool stuff ;)

4. You can now leave Player Messages on other member's profiles

5. Now, the first post of the topic is always on the top of the page on topics with more than one page. This could help with RP's with Character Statistics on the first page, or rants/debates, etc.

6. You can now report posts that you find offensive. I doubt it will be used often, if at all, but I'd rather have the option than not at all.



There may be some more changes in the future, please comment here your opinion on each of the changes. I am also thinking of a redisign, appearance-wise. What do you think?

Dislike. It's just more stuff to load, which can be a bitch for people with slow computers if the original post had pictures. If someone really cared to know what was on the original post, they'd just click the little number 1. It makes the existence of an RP'er one click easier, but I think the extra loading time counterbalances that convenience.

Alright, then I'll take out the first post shiz.

But as for the redesign, you do realize how much that this current skin is restricting us right? Not to mention I personally have never liked it XD

I REALLY, like this skin. It's the perfect shade of red and goes very well with the site.

I like the site the way it is. I don't think anything really needed changing, lest of all the skin.

It also restricts in the ways of bug fixes, etc.

First Post visibility removed. Added something called "Favorites". Going to test it out.

Like my grandaddy and every other grandaddy in the world ever said: "Don't fix what ain't broken."

Unless these "restrictions" somehow prevent us from successfully fornicating and keeping the planet filled with people, I don't think there's any reason to change it.

But if you DO change it, please keep the overall theme nice and dark like it is currently. These sort of sites have a tendency to hurt the eyes with heir frivolous use of blaring colors.



Also, a chatbox of a significantly less sadistic bent would be greatly appreciated as well.

It restricts bug fixes. One of which is the chatbox, which seems to work well on all sites but ours.

And of course I'd keep it dark. It's Umbrella for god's sake.... not to mention we're mostly all dark people. XD

Chatbox MIGHT be fixed. Nothing's certain.

I dunno, I kind of liked the portal. If anything it gave me updates on what threads have
been updated since I last logged in. I haven't been here long enough to dislike or grow
tired of the new layout, so I can't really give my opinion on it.

There's another way to see that, which everyone for some reason forgets.

Look at the chatbox.
Look at the bottom-right hand corner of the chatbox.
Look just below it.
"View posts since last visit"



Also!

Look at the Stories section on the index, but do not click it.
Look to the last post section on the far right.
Look below that.
"Today's active topics"

Well, yea. I suppose you're right there Jarki.

Still isn't as cool as vertical marquee tho D:
