Changes 1-18-10 to forum

The 'Normal Members' group was created, and set that once they post once they can automatically see more of the forum. A member should only see what a guest sees, which is the Introduction, Roleplay, and Stories. A member of the 'Normal Members' group sees all of the Public Section, Journal, and Announcement.

DEK is now the leader of the group 'Umbrella Personnel'. He should clean/trim away his group, or add in members that play DF that are not in it.

There were way too many people with single person groups. I fixed that, so now people should have adequete permissions and not have access to our military sections when they are not even in our clan.

The 'Ambassador' group should have the same access as a 'Normal Member', but can post announcements and add calendar dates.

Question.

Why is Penguin in "Umbrella Personel"?

Isn't he a "Non-DF Member"?

I don't know. There was an old Umbrella Personel group, and I just colored it and made it open.

You were the only one online at the time, that I saw the Light-Blue colour.

I then, after making that post, went and deleted a shitton of accounts from the usergroup. Pest can go and check, if you don't believe me.

Two things.


First of all, I don't think you're using the term 'butthurt' right. You seem more upset over this than I am.

Secondly, is you deleted "a shitton of accounts from the usergroup" why is Hunk, Z 1, Dutton5, and Maddjoker93 still in the usergroup? I'm sure those aren't the only inactive/not playing anymore accounts in it either. I find it hard to believe you didn't single me out just a little bit as a cheap shot of revenge.

Let me put this in more plain words. Jarki didn't remove you from the group. I did.

The rest were based on post count, and the fact that Maddjoker PM'd me in the past about how he's having some RL problems and is sorting them out then coming back to DF. Also, how would YOU know who's active/inactive on DF, Pengy? You don't ever touch it.

As I said, you must feel really targeted, paranoid, or butthurt, to think I'm singling you out. I only mentioned you because you and Lightning were the only ones online at the time, and as Pest said, you were removed by him, not me.

Can I propose a new 'feature' for the forum?

Chat stats. member activity is recorded, such as # of lines, time online, most frequent words used in chat, etc. It migh not really help, but it might just get people into chat more often.

I really shoulda taken more interest in my programming class >.>

that's only for forum stats. I meant like chat stats.

The 'profile' class gets another few fields for chat stats, and included up along with memberlist/usergroups is chatstats. you can see the most active chatters for the week, the worst all-caps abusers, etc. Once the basic infrastructure is built, adding on features to it will be easy.

And I'm sorry you didn't like programming Jarki. If I knew what the chatbox was built on I could probably take a stab at it myself.

The chat is flash of some sort. I don't think it's possible....

Boo. AJAX or PHP-based chat is needed! And it depends on how it was designed. It can still be made to work, it just needs some lovin. Though flash is one of the gaping holes in my programming experience.

Nah, it's not that I didn't like it per say.

Just that the person in front of me made it a very miserable class, and I couldn't focus on my works at all, and thus, I came out of that class with a C- and nothing from it except Credits to graduate.

I think dorts is good with computers. I don't know about programming, but you should ask him.

Ima try and find online tutorials and crap, and online lessons... and am probably retaking the course next year -.-
