Sword of Sacrifice

The man walks over and stops nearby the woman. He look up and slowly pulls the hood back and says, "Vampire" in a slightly melodic voice without a hint of anger, fear, or awe. Sounding more amused than anything else, the man extends a hand from under the cloak slowly.

zak having been seated when all the ruckes begain jumped up as the fighting finshed

"we need to get out of here now, any one have a place to go."

The cloaked man drops his hand and nods. "Follow me closely", he says in a voice ringing with authority and walks forward parting the crowd easily without his cloak getting so much as ruffled.

"Now I remember why I use swords." Braavos muttered, wiping his injured hand on a bar-towel. "And I agree with Zak, we need to get out of here pronto. Or at least I do anyway."

The inhabitants of the bar were giving him looks that meant trouble.

"i am with you friend, and i think the elf is to"

he then turned to the cloaked man

"were would you take us"

Turns back and pulls his cloak lower, "To a relatively safe place... there's a house around here that is empty. You can duck in there and take cover", he says and turns back. "Follow me if you want to"

zak looked around at the varied group that stood next to him

"does any one else have any better ideas."

Zay looked at the man in awe.

"How...how did you..." Zay stuttered.

The man extended his hand.

There was suddenly a commotion from the other end of the pub. Zay whirled around and saw a man with his face melting off. The other man quickly had his throat slit by the burned, grotesque man.

The old man jumped up, flabbergasted.

"We need to get out of here now; anyone have a place to go?" the old man said harshly.

Zay was about to say something, when the man with the cloak's voice rang out behind her.

"Follow me closely."

He started for the door smoothly. Zay looked at the others. They looked just as confused as she did. Zay's curiousity got the better of her, and she followed the man. The old man started talking, seemingly to no one. He was staring at the place where the cloaked man once was as he talked. He looked like a complete and utter fool.

The cloaked man turned back and said, seemingly in reply to whatever the older fellow said, "To a relatively safe place... there's a house around here that is empty. You can duck in there and take cover." He turned back. "Follow me if you want to."

The old man started talking to the group. Zay rolled her eyes, and walked closely to the cloaked man, whispering, "How did you know..."

The man whispers back, his words coming out quickly and leaving no room for question, "I am... different. I'll explain later and no, you won't get anything more out of me now. The house, you saw it on your way here correct? I'm unsure of it's EXACT location but it can't be that far away..." The man stops and looks back. "Wait for them"

Braavos quickly and quietly began following the strange cloaked figure who seemed to had taken an interest in Zay.

He was very suspicious of the odd man, but he was more suspicious of the bar full of drunken cutthroats.

zak followed the odd group outside were he flinched as he heard the crack

"we have heard something like that before have we not"

The man looks around at them, "Come on, now" before turning around and continuing to walk forth, the crowd parting easily before him, not bothering to turn back and check that the others are following him.

Zay once again followed quickly, falling in place right behind the cloaked man's left shoulder, muttering to him, "You remember where that house is? Or are you just leading us nowhere?"

"Yep, I'm just going to ignore that sound." Braavos said, remembering the first time it happened.

A less violent crack was heard from the same direction.

"I'm not listening, I'm not listening."

He concentrated entirely on following the odd man. The scary noise can wait.

The man shakes his head and looks at Zay without breaking stride, "We're going to the house, I'm fairly sure of its location but you confirm"

"Friends", Dathdr says, after hearing the cracking noise for a third time. "I do not believe that this sound may prove to be ominous for us. May I suggest we stock up on rations and leave the town?"

Braavos was tired, but he had to admit that the idea of procuring food and leaving town sounded much better than following a strange man to an even stranger house.

"I agree." He said, walking over to Dathdr. He didn't feel like leading the shopping expedition.

zak thought it was best to stick with people he knew so he walked over to Dathdr.

"what are our plans"

"Well, we must scrape together all of our assets, buy some food, and travel until we get to a defensible area. We will take turns taking watch, and at first light we travel again, to Goldora. If we are still being pursued, then we shall travel to the safety of Fioldafralis, even if I may not be wanted there."

The man stops suddenly, just outside the tavern and realizes the others aren't following and sighs, "Are they always like that?" he asks Zay with a small hint of annoyance in his voice.

Gurog was the second to step aboard the large floaty thing. Ahead of him was the wizard Kram, and behind him was Tinie and Tia Dam. Tinie chattered about all manner of things, Gurog only caught some of it...

"Now than," Kram began "The ride will be fairly short, and the seas are fair. This should be a rather pleasant journey. On thing I would like to say -"

"Black sails" Gurog interrupted.

"No Gurog, white." Tinie corrected. "Poor fellow, he's not so bright you see. Never went to Orc school is my gu-"

"No. Look over there!" Shouted Tia Dam. Everyone looked, and on the horizon the black sails of a pirate vessel were clearly visible.


"This could be bad..." Muttered Kram.

Zay watched as the crowd slowly revolved around Dathdr. She merely smiled, "Keep the whiskey. A gift. Perhaps we shall meet again, kind elf."

Zay returned to the cloaked man's side, and walked with him to the abandoned house she had visited earlier, answering his question.

"I don't know. They seem to be quite retarded, as a group." she replied to the man.

Once inside, she looked towards him again, "If I may ask, what is your name, and how did you know about me?"

Braavos began to glance around for places where they might be able to find some supplies, but suddenly he heard terrible noises coming from the northern gate.

He turned around to see people screaming, running, and dying, while houses burned on either side of the pathway towards the gate. He could see a group of soldiers clan in red and purple, all of whom were killing whatever peasantry they came across.

"Barth's hounds." Braavos hissed, drawing his blades.

Suddenly, he saw a peaant fly through the air, having been thrown by a hulk of a man wielding a greatsword. The peasant landed hard on his face, ripping his head from his neck.

"I've got the big one!" Braavos shouted to whoever planned on fighting alongside him.

"Anyone not fighting, get out of here now!"

And with that, Braavos charged.

The man sighs and nods slowly. "Take a seat... this is going to take a... little while. My name is Ryan, I know what you are because... well I saw it. Not many others can or would but I can and I did.... I won't tell you what I saw but instead I will show you why I saw it..." and Ryan slipped his cloak off his head and tossed it off himself and across the room. Revealing himself to have long black hair, shining white steel armor, a single blade strapped across his back with a shining iron shield slung on his back as well, his eyes looking old beyond what his features showed and a small smile spreading across his face. "I'm a Half-Angel... and I think you need my help."

edit = Only the steel sword (which has been changed to iron) does anything. the rest is decoration.
