my new and improve laptop!

im getting my brand new laptop here in about a week..
its awsome and it has 8 gb ram, ati 5870 1gb of video,
17'3 itchs, and my favorite it has a intel i7 quad core


reason why, im getting ready for the new DF 3D but i know the specs are too high tho

How on earth can a laptop not melt with that config?

DF 3D, even if it went to Unity version 3, would be very easily ran.

And, I'd hope you have some internal cooling system, as well as a mount.

im buying a cooling pad for it

The fans will still get fast enough for the thing to take off if you are gonna be pushing it when gaming.

The only thing I can say for it, is the i7 series has excellent power management. On low power mode, it literally swaps tasks between the cores so that only one core is used at a time and it doesn't put much strain on your machine. Also, AMD (owns ATI) has been working out the kinks with their integrated graphics vs. dedicated card graphics system. So you won't be running that beastly (and it is, I have a 5870 in my desktop.) card 24/7. It'll only spin up when you need it.

So, like any gaming laptop, you've got 25 pounds of awesome in a 5 pound bag. I hope the cooling settings are set right.

i have a POS laptop and the main reason besides the military why i want my dusk equipment is cuase i doubt i will be able to run 3D till i can buy a new comp.

i have to have sound off and low settingsfor the game to run now as it is.

not to mention the left side of my comp has splotches from Dr.Pepper on it, and the right side looks like a rainbow

The computer I use is a POS. It can't even run the DF Forums. I as well play DF on no sound and low graphics.

My computer should run DF 3D amazingly well.
