| Syn just do what I do and bottle it up inside till you savagely attack someone for using "your" when they should have used "you're" in a sentance.
Though I must ask. Why all the )'s?

I won't even be visiting that forum, but I'm already frightened by the idea of every single word and thread there being misspelled, with parenthesis interspersed seemingly at random throughout every sentence. I don't even know if I should get started on the punctuation - or lack of it - right now. I'm already feeling a seizure coming on from your blatant hatred of whatever language it is you're trying to speak, and I think I need a good rest.

We're not going to shun him for speaking some other language or anything. You probably will, but you're only a small percentage of the population here.
I still think if the DF leaders WANT a DF board, they'll post here and support it. Until that time, please speak into the microphone. I don't think it's working. you say you wouldnt use a new website, so why come in here and get your flame on? give me a non-native english speaker over a total moron any day. yeah, he doesnt do english as well as we do, but he obviously knows what he is doing and any SPaG corrections that are needed will take all of five minutes once the layout is sorted. moved: removed from public while under discussion.

| Personally, I think it's unnecessary to make a whole new forum just for 4 DF boards. And most of the posts here are unrelated to DF, a new site would be verging on barren. |

| Agreed, it is not needed, after how many times you have said this started out as a DF site, and it will keep its roots, I think we should vote this down like a raise for school teachers. | |

| On one hand I can see what Double Pain is talking about.
This place isn't exactly welcoming towards Dead Frontier players anymore. The forum has its roots in Dead Frontier, but there aren't as many who play Dead Frontier as they once did, and because of the atmosphere, it most often drives Dead Frontier players on to new clans, if not outright quit. That's not good for anyone.
A fresh site, dedicated to the Dead Frontier portions of the clan would be a nice little nest for fledgling members. They have things that they can relate and be related to. They actually FEEL like they're welcome there, rather than some third wheel who's standing on the fringes of a clique, trying to just exist and be noticed.
I believe others have already covered the Oldfag arguments and reasons for why we don't need another site, so I'll refrain from beating a dead horse, that's trigger's thing, not mine.
What I will express is my own opinions on the matter, and since I've already spoken in the chatbox about it, allow me to reiterate: I don't really feel we need a new site, with heavy emphasis on "need", however a new site might boost activity. There are better site building... sites, out there than the one we're currently using, and while it has nostalgic value and seniority, it doesn't have much else going for it.
I would rather Double Pain not go off and make a site for us that we wouldn't use. I've dabbled in HTML back in my early days of the net, it's not fun or particularly easy, well for someone who was untrained like me. I'd still hate for him to feel like he's done so much work for nothing, which in this case I feel would be what would happen.

| Well... as a leader of the DF portion of the group, I would not use said site.
It is simply too troublesome to check an entirely new forum just for a few more DF related posts.
If Wesker and I bring it to the attention of our members that frequently post on the DF thread, we could more than likely increase DF-member activity here.
A new site simply isn't needed. |

| so kanden, are you objecting to a new site altogether or just a new site for DF only?
if i havent already said, i do agree that a DF only site would be quieter than an electric car but a nice new shiny site for everything wouldnt be a bad thing IMO.
as for welcoming new members, so long as the guest and DF discussion boards remain troll free i dont think theres too much of a problem there. if anyone forgets that or cant help themselves i will be making them bant tho.

| he didnt know we had an offsite when he first offered to make one....then i told him we already had a forum, but if he was serious about the offer he should stop by and see what everyone thought of the idea. which as it turns out, is not-a-lot, so there you go. | |

| Forumotion isn't all that great, all it has going for it is the ability to make HTML pages, and even then its a hassle to set the domain names right, and even then trying to make them secure or password protected is thwarted by a mere url change.
I would very much like the ability to have multiple theme's, and have the person choose which theme they want to use from a drop down list, but forumotion doesn't support that.
It also doesn't support hidden group members having colors, password protected areas, or a lot of other features that I wish we had.
Still, the idea that someone we hardly know comes in and suggests to make us a new site 'from the depth of his heart' sounds fishy, especially since removing him from power would be difficult.

| I dont know bout the forumotion thing, but Ive had some experience with webs. What I saw I liked. You get a forum, you can make individual pages, you could insert your own coding for a chat. I dunno what its fully capable of though. | |

| Granted I'm sure somebody else could do it just as easily as I could. We COULD make this a two-faced site. What I mean by this is the random shenanigan threads that the oldfags post could be in topic areas that only they can see. Likewise, the big df players would also have another half of the site dedicated to them that only they could see. In this grand scheme, however, the admin would be looking at a lot of different threads. More moderators then there are now would need be created. Some for oldfags, some for df.
The way it would work: Every member we have would be sorted into one of two specific groups:
Oldfags: What they would see: Public Area Game Centre Tech General
What they wouldn't see: Information Centre (I say this because the way oldfags greet new people is pretty tasteless) Umbrella Dead Frontier
Dead Frontier Members: What they would see: Information Centre Umbrellaa Dead Frontier
What they wouldn't see: Public Area Game Centre Tech General
I also believe that Roleplay should be its own thread that both sides of the spectrum can see.
Once the site has been diced in such a way it would also be a whole lot easier to make threads focused on each sides needs.

| Who's to decide who's an oldfag and who's not? I think we should let people decide whether or not they want to participate in the non-DF part of the forums. I'm glad I started coming here, even though I don't post a lot, I still read every single post that isn't in anime, roleplay, or runescape.
Besides, I really don't see that this would accomplish much. Almost every DF clan's offsite forum has off topic boards, anyways. I couldn't imagine conversing just about DF amongst a clan... |

I have to agree with you there, Kanden. I guess I change my vote to "No, we don't need another site" on the grounds that this one performs fine for what we do with it, and for the fact that if we did have another site, it wouldn't see much use.

| I'm not saying that a person couldn't join into both of the for mentioned groups.. I'm simply stating that this site is so lacking in DF pizazz that all the new members pretty much avoid this site completely and instead post in the UC section on DF. I don't think people should be alienated from oldfag shenanigans; but at the same time I don't think they should forcibly be subject to them. | |

| Well, when you look at it, there really isn't much to talk about regarding DF that isn't covered on our thread. And quite frankly, I think it's better that most of the DF talk is on said thread, so we don't fall into the void of unseen pages. |

| Obviously what we need here is a good old fashioned death-lottery.
Anyone got a box and some paper?
But yeah. If we made another site for DF, I'd join, but I'd probably post rarely. I still keep an eye on DF, manage my assets, and piddle around in the first few screens, but I won't be playing seriously until a couple changes take place.
