| Scyther it is. He happens to be my favorite anyway Also, you can't rename pokemon who have been traded over from a different game.

| Hurray i just beat the Elite Four in Silver (old version) did it with lvl 44 Vulpix ( my fav pokemon ) lvl 45 Scyther ( Because its a fucking Scyther ) lvl 45 Kadabra ( Ace in the hole ) lvl 50 Feraligator ( Mr. Muscle ) lvl 34 Flaffy ( paralyze foes ) lvl 40 Lugia ( typically i dont use legendary pokemon but he made a good PP sink for lances hyperbeams using Recover ) I'd have used my Umbreon but his lvl isnt up to snuff yet, and Espeon is worst. No stones for my other 3 eevees yet | |

| I polished off the Elite Four in SS a few days ago. It was fucking brutal!
*twitch* I can't remember for the old silver, but in this version, Lance's team consists of Gyarados, Charizard, Aerodactyl and 3 fucking Dragonites that seem to be able to take a godly amount of damage to kill.
It wouldn't have been a big problem, if not for the fact that I could only grind on level 30 to 35 pokemon along Victory Road, when most of my pokemon were 10 levels higher than them.
Unlike the old version, where trainers typically call you for rematches, you have to call them in this version to initiate the re-match. Sure you might have some trainers call you asking for a rematch, but you only get a hand full to choose from on a daily basis. Sometimes you have to call multiple freaking times to get the re-match to go through.
Then there's the TM's. Normally you can find some pretty useful TM's during your journey. You normally get a lot of the good stuff before you reach the Elite Four, not so in soul silver. You might be able to get three or four good ones if you're willing to go out of your way to find them, but otherwise you're going to have a hard time without them. I couldn't get Earthquake or Sludge Bomb until after beating the last gym because I needed to use Waterfall outside of battle.
I'm now in Kanto, going through the original eight leaders. I've already beaten Lt. Surge and Erika, and trying to find out where the 'ef Misty is. I keep hearing about some accident at the power plant, so I'm heading there to take a look.

I keep hearing about some accident at the power plant, so I'm heading there to take a look. Lance is the same n the old version and is still a bastard, which is why i broke my no legendary pokemon rule and brought Lugia around for the final battle. Recover helps with draining his Dragonites Hyper Beam attacks, which usually blows the shit outa your pokemon. But once that problem was taken care of Feraligator evend the match up. I spen the time in the casion to get TM 14 i believe, which had Blizzard and gave it to Feraligator. Ice whoops the shit outta dragons its just those damn Hyperbeams with Dragonites speed that killed my Ferry before he could land a solid hit. When it comes to TM's i tend to hold em all till I reach the 8th gym in Kanto (where i am now). Only ones i know for sure where i want them to go is Fury Cutter and Steel Wing which go on Scyther. A Scyther with: Steel Wing - metal Wing Attack - flying Fury Cutter - bug Swords Dance - 2x attack power Will rape almost anything besides a solid Fire type. I'm working out how i want to make my eevee lineup now. I try to blend them as best as i can with as many different types as possible. Only thing that silver sucks with badly is the serious lack of evolution stones. Luckily i get 1 for each eevee and a left over leaf stone for grass which i dont use and replace with Scyther instead. As for Misty and the machine problem go north of Celadon, after going in the Celadon Gym. If Soul is like the oldschool (whih according to Lance it is) that should trigger both events in the north by Bill's old house.

| I think you mean Cerulean, Celedon's in the mid-west.
In either case, I took care of the power plant issue and I'm trying to remember where Blaine is. I think he's hiding out in the Seafoam Islands. Bleh.
Oh and Kyo. Lance's Dragonite's wouldn't have been a problem if all they used was their Hyper Beam attacks, most of my pokemon have decent physical defense. No, these fuckers were using a new toy called Dragon Rush. It's got 150 base damage, plus whatever modifiers they get for STAB, and can cause flinching. Their only draw back is a 75 Accuracy, not that it helped me any. They hit me EVERY time they used that attack. Every time. IT was bullshit. My team always got a OTK from that thing.

| lol yea cerulean, dam things look the same on map.
Anyways figured out what i'd do for my eevee line up
Vaporeon - Poison, freeze, then up defence 1. Hydro Pump - water 2. Acid Armor 3. Toxic - poison 4. Blizzard - ice
Jolteon - break S. Defence with shadow ball, blast with thunder 1. Bite - dark 2. Pin Missile - bug 3. Thunder - elec 4. Shadow Ball - dark
Flareon - use on weak physical defence and grass, bugs 1. Flamethrower - fire 2. Iron Tail - metal 3. Mud Slap - ground 4. Fire Blast - fire
Espeon - special attack galore 1. Psychic - psy 2. Psybeam - psy 3. Zap Cannon - elec 4. Hyperbeam - norm
Umbreon - confuse, lower S. Defece with psychic then hidden power. faint attack for fly/dig pokemon 1. Faint attack - dark 2. Confuse Ray - ghost 3. Psychic - psy 4. Hidden Power - dark*
All thats left to decide is the 6th pokemonand i'm leaning on scyther for the previous setup above.

| Hey Kyo, here's an alternate team you might like - Demon Eyes Kyo wrote:
Vaporeon - Poison, freeze, then up defence 1. Waterfall - water / Ice Beam - ice 2. Acid Armor -psn / Toxic - psn / Rest - psy 3. Rain Dance - water/ Substitute - nrm 4. Baton Pass - nrm
I know it's not as appealing as the offensive Vaporeon, but it's meant to be a support pokemon. You use toxic to weak your opponent, or Acid Armor to increase your defense, then Rain Dance before passing out into Jolteon. Only use Rain Dance if Jolteon has Thunder, otherwise go with one of the other moves. Thunder hits 100% when coupled with Rain Dance.
Jolteon - break S. Defence with shadow ball, blast with thunder 1. Bite - dark / Shadow Ball - ghost 2. Pin Missile - bug / Double Kick - fght (if it exists) / Iron Tail - stl 3. Thunder / Thunderbolt - elec 4. Thunder Wave - elec / Toxic - psn / Rain Dance - water / Mudslap - grnd
The odd thing is, Jolteon was mostly used as the Baton Passer back in the day, using Thunderwave/Toxic to annoy the opponent before passing on to another pokemon to finish the job. But I went with your offensive Jolteon. Dark-type moves like Bite are only effective against Psychic types, though it might be effective against ghost, too. Ghost is only effective against Psychic and other ghosts. So you don't really need both of them unless you got no other alternatives. Pin Missile is great, it deals STAB against psychic, grass and dark types, but it's still a weak move. Double Kick isn't much better, but can deal damage to rock, steel and dark types, so you got diversity. Again, use Thunder if you have a Rain Dance support, otherwise go with Thunderbolt for accuracy. The 4`th slot should be for a support move. Thunder Wave offers instant paralysis, toxic deals poison, Rain Dance sets up Thunder, and Mudslap deals a bit of damage and lowers accuracy.
Flareon - use on weak physical defence and grass, bugs 1. Flamethrower - fire 2. Iron Tail - metal 3. Mud Slap - ground 4. Fire Blast - fire
Sadly there's not all that much that can be done to actually improve Flareon. He suffers from a bland move pool and not a whole lot of diverse TM/HM choices. My only suggestion would be giving him Return or Hidden Power on the off chance that It'd be a favored type.
Espeon - special attack galore 1. Psychic - psy 2. Sunny Day - Fire 3. Calm Mind - psy / Zap Cannon - elec 4. Morning Sun - nrm
You'll definitely want to have Sunny Day and morning sun on your Espeon. It's a no brainer. Morning Sun heals Espeon depending on the weather condition, if it's sunny, you're gonna heal more HP. If you want a special sweeper, go with calm mind over Zap Cannon. 3 calm minds, combined with Psychic will wipe out just about anything.
Umbreon - confuse, lower S. Defece with psychic then hidden power. faint attack for fly/dig pokemon 1. Mean Look - Nrm 2. Baton Pass - nrm 3. Toxic - psn 4. Moonlight - nrm / Rest - psy
Sadly, out of all the first and second gen (maybe even the 4`th gen) eevelutions, Umbreon is the least effective in physical combat. His attack stats are pathetic, and it's the main reason he's used as the Baton Passer. Use Mean Look to trap your opponent, then use Toxic, and from there, do your best to keep yourself healed. Baton Pass only if necessary

| eh i dont battle with other players just the computer. Baton Pass serves no purpose to me, and Calm Mind doesn't exist in the old version.
About to fight the final trainer in Mt. Silver making notes as i go along. Using these 6 lvl 5 pichu (needed flash to get here and gonna use him to see what he starts with) lvl 54 Flareon - Flamethrower, Mud Slap, Iron tail, Bite lvl 56 Jolteon - Pin Missile, Thunder, Bite, Shadow ball lvl 57 Espeon - Psychic, Psybeam, Zap Cannon, Morning Sun (didnt get hyperbeam yet) lvl 55 Umbreon - Faint Attack, Psychic, Confuse Ray, Headbutt (Hidden power wasnt the best) lvl 56 Vaporeon - Aurora Beam, Hydro Pump, Toxic, Acid Armor ------------------------------------------ I just beat the Final Trainer "Red" lvl 81 Pikachu lvl 75 Snorlax lvl 73 Espeon lvl 77 Blastoise lvl 77 Venasaur lvl 77 Charizard
using only my 5 eevee's on the first try. Pikachu: This guy was a asshole, used 2 full restores on it when i had it at crit. Flareon was my choice for this guy. Two mudslaps made his thunder ineffective, and flamethrower packed a big enough punch to deal damage. Flareon won with half life left. Snorlax: I figured there would be a guy like him here which is where Vaporeon stepped up. First move was toxic, which causes increased poison damage each round, which is good for this big bastard. Using Vap's high health and acid armor he lasted 4 rounds before dying, which was enough to allow toxic to work its magic making him an easy target for Jolteon to land a thunder a polish him off. Espeon: Umbreon obviously was my choice. His swift couldn't match Faint Attack and Umbreon lived with a little more then half life. Blastoise: Big turtle versus Jolteon. Thunder landed a solid blow but his first move 1 hit KOed Jolteon. So i had to use Espeon and Zap Cannon to land the next blow which stunned him and but still hit me a 2nd hydro pump. Espeon live below half life though. Charizard: Was really hoping there wouldnt be one here but after seeing blastoise i knew him and venasuar couldn't be far behind. Kept Espeon out and landed a psybeam which fortunately confused him but didnt save espeon a flamethrower in the face. So i had Flareon and Umbreon Left. I used Flareon against better logic and used Iron Tail to kill it and lukyily confusion spared my Flareon. Venasaur: Last one left and two half way pokemon left... Luckily i still had a fire type but wasn't about to use it to start with incase there ws a surprise attack i didnt expect. So Umbreon went first, and confused it. Then i used Psychic once before it killed me to lower its special defence for my last flamethrower attack. luckily it charged for a solar beam giving Flareon the opening it needed to land the flamethrower attack and luckily knock off its last remaining 3/4s HP.
Using 5 eevee's well mixed and 20-25 levels beneath the final opponette's i kicked his ass using no items i the inventory when he had two full restores. All i have to say is all glory to Flareon the best Attack Strength pokemon and Espeon the best Spc. Attack pokemon not including legendary of course.
All hail the mighty Eevee linup!! ^_^
