In every pokemon game (besides yellow) you get to choose a starter. Typically i go for looks, but i also go for the final eveolutions. Here's what i would go with
Charmander - 3 Squirtle - 1 Bulbasaur - 2 Blastoise is the only one who can endure a long fight agaist just about every type.Charizard has been the favorite of many but he is actually pretty helpless (though he can learn fly)
Cyndaquill - 2 Totodile - 1 Chicorita - 3 Water still holds the reigns but this time grass is the weak link. Besides healing powers Magneium is a bit of a shmuk
Torchic - 1 Mudkip - 2 Treecko -3 Both Blazekin, and Swampert are very good. Swamp loses though giving water their first loss cause even though its only weakness is grass, theres alot of those in the gameand his moves are too basic. Where Blazekin gets a pretty good array of weapons to deal with his weaknesses directly usually going first.
Chimchar - 3 Piplup - 2 Turtwig - 1 Well Grass finnaly gets a win. Tortetra is built like a tank like Blastois once was, and he gets all the goodies grass and a few ground moves. Tortera is a beast, but piplup is just cute. Chimchar is a joke.
Pokabu - 3, a Pig not rally my thing Mijumaru - 1, as far as first form starters go, the otter wins. It'll prolly have ice moves too. Tsutaja - 2, im guessing the snake humanoid is gonna have a badass final evolution
My final conclusion: Fire - 8 points Water - 13 points: winner Grass - 9 points
Water has always seems to have the edge over all other starters stat wise, resistance, and move wise. Grass taking 2nd just barely. Another trait that make those two superior is water gets to know surk and other HM's which are very useful. Grass can usually cut, but thats mainly for short cuts. Fire is always having to grossly overpower a pokemon or hanging back, they are are just too darn weak to just about every common element in the game.
Who knows when Black/White comes out maybe the little pig can pull out a win over the grass pokemon this time.

Other than G/S, I think grass usually gas the most attractive starters. This time around though, fire is looking mighty appealing.

So i been playing pokemon Emerald, and i have to admit its not all that bad. YOu get some good 2nd gen and 1s gen pokemon early so your not screwed with the 3rd gen failures.
Only thing is i cant decide on a Fire type...
Blazekin Pros: Very Good Stats Starter Pokemon Learns BlaZe Kick which criticals often for 140-150 damage, and Sky Uppercut
Cons: You have to choose between Flamethrower or Blaze Kick
Assesment: I can teach it Flamethrower or FireBlast with a TM after alot of gambling den action to make up for Blaze Kick. Or i can give it the devasting Overheat from the gym that dishes out 140 damage with 100 acuracy, but it greatly drops special defence. Plus is ability aloows it to add 1.5x damge to its fire attacks if his health hits 1/3 remaining.
Torkoal Pros: Very Tough Physical Defence Learns Flamethrower, Smog, Fire Spin, Body Slam and Heatwave
Cons: Slow Very Weak to water
Assessment: Torkoal can dish out alot of punishment while surviving. If you Poison an opponent with smog, cause a Burn, and use Fire Spin thats 3 times an opponent gets hit plus you can use Body Slam to Paralyze or Heat wave for a 4th attack. But most fights end in 3 hits anyways
Cons: Very Weak to water, being both ground and fire. Slow
Assesment: Eruption is one badass move, 150 Damage, 100 accuracy, gets stronger as Camerupt takes damage. That move is the crem-de-la-crem of fire attacks. If it Crits omg the rapage. Plus Earthquke!?! He's a beast! Only thing is he's not a Team Player. both moves would demonlish any partner he goes in with besides a flying type with earthquake. Eruption can only be used 5 times.
its a tough choice indeed. Im leaning towards Blazekin or Torkoal, they both look pretty awesome, but Camerupt looks like a retarded camel
Also with the ammount of 2vs 2 fights Camerupt is a double edge swrod with his attacks, even though i could teachit flamethrower

lmao thats awesome, and i think i know what site thats off of too.
dont feel too bad though in sliver/gold he is the new Viridian Gym leader instead of Giovanni (the most sterotypical character ever. Italian Mob Boss)
so he manage to move out of piece of shit town, gt the top job there, and remember all those bitches he had on the show? Turns out he's living well while our hero from red/blue in silver/gold is hiding away in a mountain.

In the first 4 generations, the trainers you play as were all meant to be 10 years old. However, in generation 5, they're meant to be older.
This looks like it may be my least favorite generation...I'm having a hard time finding ones I like. And what the fuck at this being the THIRD generation in a row to have a fire/fighting starter.
Daikenki and Kokoromori seem to be my favorites so far...

What's with the first pokemon being before any of the starters?
Speaking of which, I absolutely LOVE the starters this time around! In fact, I dare say Daikenki is even cooler than Blastoise.
Once again, I'm picking water. Only in Gold/Silver did I ever NOT pick water, and that's because Typhlosion was a freaking badass.
14 years, and still no grass starter has caught my eye, though I did pick Turtwig the first time I played Diamond. Restarted by the fourth badge, though.
It are want...

Funnily enough, people have been making fun of him for months now. And he ends up being by far the coolest final form.

Only 53 Days remaining until Black & White hit American stores, which means that the 3DS is already out or anticipated to be released in the near future, unless they start getting some seriously bad reports of kids eye's exploding from the 3D effects.
I thought I'd make light to you guys that there are a few Pokemon Wifi Events going on currently and in the following weeks.
Jan 3'rd - Feb 7th: Gamestop is offering you the chance to own shiny variants of the 3 Legendary Beasts from HeartGold & SoulSilver. These pokemon were originally given out in Japan as a special promotional offer for like, the 8 or 9'th movie. Currently Available: Raikou (3'rd - 9'th) Next Available: Suicune (17'th - 23'rd) Next Available: Entei (Jan 31'st - Feb 7'th
On Jan 30'th - Feb 5'th, Toys R Us will be offering you Ash's Pikachu from the anime/movie series. It'll have the following attacks: Thunderbolt, Quick Attack, Volt Tackle, Iron Tail and will have a special Light Ball held item, which is damn hard to get.
On Feb 27'th - March 7'th, you'll get a chance to download the special Celebi Event that was released earlier last year for HeartHome & SoulSilver which will give you a Celebi as well as a special event that will give you some backstory on Team Rocket and your Rival's Role with them, so don't miss out on getting this wicked download.
You can find more information on current, past and future Wifi events by visiting serebii.net.
